Will we see this new style time added on creep onto the domestic game

More than happy for it, we play some sides where they must waste 20 minutes every game time wasting, it’s killing the game for me and it’s just dreadful to watch. Either add the correct time on or stop the clock to benefit the sides actually looking to play football

It already is - Burnley scored in the 101st minute against Rotherham after some blatant time wasting. Whether refs apply this across the board I don't know.
Remember watching that and Rotherham wasted significantly more than that, under these new rules that game could have had 20 minutes added, one of the most anti footballing sides I have seen in a long time

I hate it when we are hanging on for three points when 2 or 3 minutes are added. But 10 to 15! Jesus. I remember under Karanka spending stoppage time in the beer garden at the pub because I couldn't stand the agony.

And look how many stoppage the goals we've conceded this year. Don't give them more time to score a last gasp equaliser.

One thing I didn't realise is that in this WC, they are adding time on for the goal celebrations and how long it takes to kick off again. I wouldn't really wish to stop that or make players take corners overly quickly (although some corners take forever whilst the ref. sorts out all the jostling in the box). Not really a fan of the stop-clock, as the ball being out of play is part and parcel of football. That's why we have throw-ins, corners, free kicks, penalties, goal kicks, etc. However the refs being more conscious of deliberate time wasting is definitely a step in the right direction.

The stop clock is a perfect opportunity for commercials though. I really don’t want that. I got into NFL for a bit a few years back and even went to a few games, but after a while it dawned on me that the whole thing was just an advertising vehicle.

Definitely, we've seen over the years that refs haven't got the minerals to pull the big teams/players on time wasting.
