Will Paddy Bamford cut the mustard this season...like he did......for us?

Some sensational goals - the drop-shoulder-turn-run goal against Ipswich and via the Rams when the angle seemed too tight....

He didnt really cut the mustard in the Premier League for Burnley Norwich or Palace. He may not even make the first 11 this season to prove himself apart from some bench appearances.

And to be honest whilst he is a past player Im not that concerned.

Personally, I wonder if he will get given the chance - but hes a little like Ayala - a good championship player, but never consistent enough to be a permenant fixture in the top flight.

As a fan I think his ship has sailed.

No -he is a serial failure and mercenary with no loyalty to anyone but himself. Will not feature much this season in the first team as he is not EPL quality and misses 5 for every one he scored. Leeds will bring in a striker to replace him and he will eventually flounce off and go on loan to a Championship club - you can probably tell I can’t stand the guy.

Paddy has 1 prem goal with 4 clubs. I just don't see him getting anywhere near enough goals. He's a decent champo forward.

I was really gutted that out of the 5 forwards we had we decided to move him on (we now have 2🙁). On his day he scores goals our current lot couldn't.

The standout 3 were the spin on the halfway line and finish against Ipswich. The loverly finish away at Derby (great ball by Tomlin) and the stunner away at Sunderland. Superb control / turn and finish. He never had a chance under pulis. He simply wasn't his type.

Leeds have also signed a forward for 28mil who scored 4 league goals last season. That's not a great frontline stats wise😂

Then again Sheff UTD manged with journeyman Sharp and Mcgoldrick a flop in Musett and a decent champo target man.

I hope so . He was over the moon to come back to us & was treated like crap by Pullis . Twice the player britt is .
Let’s re - write history to serve our story! The bloke was like a rat up a drainpipe out of here after the play off loss to Norwich because he was too good for the Championship. Even had the brass neck to go to the team that beat us. Despite that when his talents couldn’t get him a kick of a ball with the mighty Norwich and Burnley we once again opened our arms to him despite being previously crapped on. You have your opinion on the second time he left, I have a different understanding but bottom line is he done what he always has and always will- he put himself before any loyalty to the Boro. No affection or like for the bloke in the slightest. Dead to me when he mugged us off the first time

Championship player of the year wants to test himself in the Premier league & you are surprised? Do you feel the same way about every player that has ever left us ? Surely the little fella should should have stayed & got us promoted ? Was he "dead to you " when he left us ?

And rewriting history ? My memory is pullis only played him as striker because britt was injured & he scored us the goals that got us into the play offs - only to be dropped as soon as Britt was fit .

In fairness, he picked up that injury in the home game vs Bristol City. Britt then came into the side and actually finished the season off well, hence why he kept his place for the play-offs. Britt was poor in the 1st leg game vs Villa though, so it was strange that Pulis didn't start Bamford in the 2nd leg. Pulis was also not starting Bamford in any of the pre-season games if I remember rightly, so in many ways I can understand why Bamford probably became unsettled.

Looking back now, I think Bamford was happy to leave but I also think the club were happy to sell him.
