Will Liverpool go the whole season undefeated in the league?

I think going unbeaten in the league would be more impressive than winning the Champions League, personally, it's only happened twice in 132 years of top flight English football.
Liverpool by themselves have already won the top European title 6 times.

They've already lost in the Champions League this year, and they lost 3 times in the group stage last year.

But there's far more foreign money to be had from the Champions League, so they'd 100% prioritise that.

Man City can't beat Liverpool, unless they have Laporte back, and fully fit and they won't be in with a sniff next year unless they get shot of Stones and buy two CB's. One to go with Laporte, and a suitable backup.

Wev1, who is available to buy to bridge the gap & enable City to challenge again next season, this will see how God a manager Pep is when facing a team, potentially, far better than his own

not sure if Leicester would sell but if I was City I would be going all out to sign Chilwell for left back and Soyuncu to play alongside Laporte, then sign a back up aswell.

I'd like to see them do it as the way Klopp sees the game is as close to my own philosophy as any manager out there.

Despite the opposition to Liverpool from all over the shop you'd have to be very churlish to say that they aren't anything other than a really good team with some fantastic individuals playing at the top of their game.

As long as Klopp can keep them focused then I think they can win both the PL and CL.

Last season Liverpool seemed to rely on Salah, this season, as good as he is, they don't seem to rely on him as much & have individuals all over the pitch as match winners

They don’t have a weak link. They are just absolutely fantastic in every area.

It says everything and answers a lot of questions when they were saying 'What if Liverpool suffered injuries'.....they've more than coped this season.

Alisson has been out for a fair number of games (injury and suspension). They also lost Fabinho who was sensational at the start of the season. Mo Salah had a bad month playing through a blatant obvious injury (before the international break). They have just lost Mane (although looking like getting back to fitness).....and they've hardly missed any of them when they were injured.

Goes to show how brilliant Klopp has managed to keep them so far ahead of anyone else.

Klopp is the best manager in the PL without a doubt

Maybe Germany would come calling if results don't improve!
Would he go though?

Whilst that's true I don't think their squad 'on paper', man-for-man, as is intimidating as City's, which really makes their achievements this season all the more impressive.

Mind you, given they are the PL Champions-elect, current European and World Champions, and have made the last two CL finals, with 6 european cups in the cabinet, how a Man City side who've only once made the semi-finals and are 22 points behind in the PL are bookies favourites for the CL is utterly beyond me. Obviously that's what people are backing though.

Agree.

Especially given the fact Liverpool have the easier tie in the last 16 too!!

It's incredible how the bookies have that market priced up.

Although a lot can happen between now and May, if Liverpool drew City...on current form, then I couldn't see anything but a completely convincing Liverpool win.

Say even if City managed to win the first leg at home....I'd still fancy Liverpool at Anfield under the lights with their home record and atmosphere.

If City are struggling against Palace & Wolves how will they compete against Europe's best

I for one would love to see them win the CL, can't see it though

City’s forward line and midfield is frightening but I do think teams play city now and think ah we will get chances against that backline. Against Liverpool teams just think there beat before the games begun. Liverpool have better defensive options than City, as they can play any 4 of Van Dijk, Gomez, Lovren or Matip and you would argue all them 4 would slot straight alongside Laporte at city. Whereas when you see Otamendi and Stones playing together teams think ah we will get chances here today

That's the problem, but I'm sure there's someone knocking around. It's not the case of who's available though, as they have the money to make anyone available.

Koulibaly and Soyuncu are two names which come to mind.

Personally I think they should be signing someone like Boly of Wolves.

Every time I see him he impresses me.

There's no surprise that when he was injured, Wolves suffered with their form.

Now he's back, they're on the upward curve again.

Boly is some player. I also think Coady has been great this season. I’d like to see him get in the England squad in March for the warm up games. He deserves to be in the squad in my opninion.

Can they do it?

I certainly hope so. It's refreshing to see City so far away this season especially as they are IMHO the epitome of everything that is wrong with football.

Liverpool are certainly a club with its own critics but I find Klopp to be far more engaging and able to connect with the footballing public than Guardiola and also more genuine. I also think he is a better manager and that Liverpool have achieved what they have while selling big names in recent years (Suarez, Coutinho etc) and not spending the same way City do.

Agree. I mean they're just the Manchester branch of CFG Ltd aren't they? Barely resemble anything to do with the Man City that was once Ardwick AFC etc.

I know Liverpool are hardly a little known underdog but they're the lesser of two evils imho.

11-12 years into this 'bottomless money pit' project and City have won 4 PL titles, a few domestic cups, and not even a European final. I think they will be disappointed with that return in truth, they should have won more. They should be utterly dominant.

Even only 2 titles from 4 seasons with Pep at the helm.
