Will immunity passports allow people back into grounds

Doubt it until they prove anyone who have had the vaccine can’t still carry the virus

Realistically we are at least 4-5 months away to getting some semblance of normality back I fear. The vaccine will mean this is the last winter we have to suffer this way, medically, rather than football wise, we hope.

The government have said, for what thats worth, that there will be no vaccination certificate.

Quite possibly NYboro, though I actually think the government would shy away from this due to legal difficulties, what am I saying!

I presume the countries with very low infection rates will refuse entry to those from countries that have high infection rates. Presently its possible only if you go into quarantine for 14 days.
But that will need to change. which means a vaccination certificate.

I suspect that may be a driving force behind any government decision, but I would have thought our infections will start to fall dramatically once vaccinations become more common place. Bare in mind that most of us won't be getting vaccinated for months yet unless you are older or have underlying conditions. We have about 7 or 8 million over 70's so vaccination will take a while. By the time we get round to the younger folks I would expect infection rates to have fallen because we will have entered spring and we will have a large portion of the population vaccinated.

I'm not sure what you're referring to there. If you mean that the government have said they will not be using a system of "immunity passports" based on a vaccination certificate then maybe that's true.

However I'm sure there will be a way to get a vaccination certificate, not least because some countries will almost certainly start requiring them for entry (once the vaccines have been available for long enough for that to be practicable) as a way to avoid their current mandatory quarantine regulations.

It has also been pointed out that they may eventually be required in some areas of employment - care home workers, front line health care workers etc.

What I was actually saying liamo was that by the time enough people are vaccinated to make a vaccination certificate workable there may be tiny rates of infections so the whole question would be moot.

Countries may still to decide to require a vaccination proof but your GP will be supplying that, it will have a short lifespan and will cost you 20 quid.

We will have to wait and see what the world looks like at that point in terms of infection rates.

If they were going to have it they would have had it from day one. It won’t be happening

However that said I can see airlines insisting on medical proof from say your gp in order to fly etc or other countries insisting on the same thing.

But hm govt won’t be be doing one.

A reminder - from late May this year for 4 and a half months we had no excess deaths In the UK with relative freedom from July. For the first part of that period no masks either.
That was without a vaccine.

There has to be hope
