Boris ego will not let him leave the job unfinished , He has made grave personal decisions and tried to hide them by lying from the people he serves, He had to go ... this time . He is charasmatic and my 92 year old mum thinks " he has been hounded out" and loves him.... so do a great deal of other people ... he is off course toxic ... he is well at home on the stand at the commons , he is a elequent speaker and a complete wordsmith and he will be back ... let the dust settle for 5 years and bang hes back ....

Churchill made loads of mistakes, went into the wilderness in the 1930s and still became PM when he was over 70 in 1950?

Not saying BJ is similar to Churchill, but I can see the same type of popularist appeal.

No. Soon to be Lord Johnson will take off on a world speaking tour, his ego will prevent him from going back to being a common MP. The damage he has inflicted on your country will be so severe that even in 5 years you will be suffering.

No, the sensible Tories have woken up, he may be every Brexiters favourite Uncle but the reality is that he is a poisonous clown, a disaster zone who governs by his own ego.

The country really cannot afford him to get anywhere near the power corridors again and I think the 1922 know this otherwise he would not have been kicked out.

He will absolutely be back. Everything he has said and done since stepping down has pointed to it.

The comment about Churchill is so relevant - he is Johnson's absolute hero and the chance to "emulate" him by serving 2 separate terms as Prime Minister will be too strong a pull to resist.

Interesting that someone who can't even spell the word thinks that Johnson is eloquent. He isn't, he just has a posh accent, and if you actually listen to what he's saying it's complete and utter rubbish 99% of the time.

His image, which is what appeals to your very old mum and others who have reached her maturity at a much younger age, was constructed by the weapons if mass deception, the right wing media.

The man isn't eloquent, he's a bumbling monstrosity who actually struggles to put more than a sentence or two of reasoned speech together at any one time.

Even at your age there's still time to learn that we don't need the ridiculous Eton accent to lead us, there are far better leaders amongst us than the silver spoon brigade.

I think it greatly depends on who wins the Leadership election, if it is Truss then I think they'll hagiograph his time in charge, give him a high profile cabinet role and reputation manage so that if they lose the next GE he'll be able to step into the breach, the conquering hero returns.

If it's Sunak then he'll waddle off to his speaking tours and end up on GB News, Sunak will do a Cummings on Johnson and totally point the finger of blame towards him. It's one of the reasons why Sunak is a better option than Truss.

Johnson uses his vocabulary to appear eloquent when all he's doing is making the simple complex, this verbosity means people are wondering what the words mean rather than what he's actually saying and buys him time when faced with questions, a 5 minute interview can be reduced to a couple of questions with the correct amount diversionary waffle.

I recall someone praising his ability to recite Homer in the original Greek as if this was impressive. You can literally teach a parrot to do that if you want.

He has a superficial "charm" that cannot be denied. I was surprised a few weeks ago when a person I have known for a long time declared that they "loved" him. I'm honestly baffled after everything that he has done and not done in public office that people think he is worthy of a cross in the box. I do wonder if he'll stand as an MP in the next GE? It isn't the safest of Tory seats (unlike Sunak's for example) imagine the hilarity if he lost his seat. So perhaps he will stand down?

Wish he just fkk off now.

But even if he loses his seat, he's a grifter and will just effortlessly move onto his autobiography (No 1 in the fiction charts in Red Wall areas), speaking tours, his chums will set him up with consultant roles. He will flail the sh*t of the "ex UK PM" tag and make millions......and let's face it, that's their primary goal in life isn't it?

All the while oblivious to the misery he and his government has inflicted on the UK in three short years.

Chunt.

Rare that I disagree with AM, but I don’t think there’s a way back. I think even Truss will need to do a bit of a Cummins on him to cover her own previous ineptitude. I think that whoever wins BJ is off on a speaking tour and will be unable to prevent himself saying stupid things that prevent a future comeback. He may currently think he will come back, but he’s too lazy to put the work in and will get distracted.

I think he thinks he'll be back

"Hasta la vista" isn't simply "bye". It's more like "see you later".

I also doubt he's oblivious to the fact it's most commonly associated with the Terminator movies and their other well known catch phrase either. But I suppose "I'll be back" would be a bit too full on the nose either for him.

Either that or he's just attempting to poison the well a bit for his successor by hinting he's going to hang around like a bad smell. All very trumpian.

I think there is a lot more yet to come out about Johnson’s time in office, and I hope that a lot of it will be disclosed once he’s out. The stories that will show the true nature of the man will hopefully put anyone off from ever falling for his act again.
If there is any justice in the world he’ll end up behind bars.
