Wilder vs Fury

If I had to pick I'd go Fury on points, you would imagine he is going to be a far better shape than he was for the first fight, much sharper too and then he's already been in there with Wilder so you'd think he would be even more confident this time.

That being said, Wilder is one of the biggest punchers I've ever seen and if he knocked Fury out with one shot at any point in the fight in would not shock me at all.

Like others I'd like to see Fury win and think he can do it - he does look very fit and sharp in some of the interviews, relaxed with a fight plan and trying to adjust his power game to suit. I'm don't think he will KO Wilder but he could put him down a few times, and that would certainly make the judges think hard about a points win.

All that said, like Chappy112 stated you just cannot ignore the sheer brutal punch power of Wilder and we've seen that in the last fight, so Fury has to keep his focus at al times and try to disrupt any attack Wilder attempts with his defence whilst keeping his own attacking game sharp - a big ask over the duration of the fight if it goes the distance.

I'm going with the heart on this one, Fury on points after knocking WIlder down and frustrating his punch game, even though the nagging head says Wilder ends it all with one devastating shot in the last third of the fight.

Is that right that all 3 judges are American and the referee is also American for Saturdays fight?
Fury has bob hope 🙈

No way Fury wins on points. He could win every round but won't get the decision. He's got to knock him out and I don't think he can. Wilder for me by the halfway point either by KO or opening up the cut.
Think you're buying too much into the foreign fighters can't get a result in Vegas myth. If Fury wins every round he'll absolutely get the decision.

I think DCI & Wilf are right in what they're saying about the cut. I think it's going to play a significant role.

I don’t think fighters have that much trouble winning in the US on points tbh. It’s probably one of the better places to try and win a title unless you’re up against someone like Canelo.

Much harder to get a decision in the UK or Germany against the home fighter.

Boxer vs Banger. An age old cocktail. Leonard v Hearns ... except neither Wilder or Fury two is as good ast their historic counterpart. Fury is certainly no Leonard.

Watched the first fight again. I can’t see the cut being a problem, don’t think Wilder has the skill to be able to target it, especially against a far superior boxer.

it was interesting how gassed Wilder was at the end of the first fight and another round might have been enough for Fury. When you consider how long Fury had been out of the ring and how unconditioned he was it’s quite telling.

I think Fury will tire Wilder out over the first six rounds or so, then step up the tempo to utilise his increased power and fitness.

whatever it will be an interesting fight, how anyone can think Wilder is anything other than a slugger is laughable.
In my opinion, AJ would muller Wilder but think Fury beats AJ. Hope all three fight at some point.

I am going for the shock Fury k.o. Fury hurt Wilder a few times in the first fight and even commented on it himself afterwards. He obviously had a game plan to win on pounts so avoided going for the k.o but i think he will take the opening this time.

Real pick'em fight. The only outcome i cant see is Wilder on points.

I think Fury will win, possibly with a stoppage between 9-12. A fully fit Fury is a far different proposition than the Fury of the first fight. If he wears him down all fight there is everychance of a stoppage. Fury is hitting harder than ever too. He wobbled wilder a few times, he can do it again harder.

How can people see fury won’t get a decision? They do realise at the start of the 12th round fury was winning the fight? It’s only cos he got knocked down that he didn’t win. If he didn’t get clipped and everyone scored it 10-9 wilder fury would have been champ

It’s just not true he can’t get a decision. I favour fury. Wilder is heavier and fury is fitter from what I’ve read. Both favour fury

I think even with the two knockdowns under his belt it was quite clear he'd taken enough rounds to get a decision. I'd say there's a hesitancy as to whether he can get a decision due to the unfavourable decision he got first time round. It just creates doubt in the mind. FWIW i think he can get a decision in Las Vegas...i'm just not sure he'll make it that far.

I watched the ITV documentary on Fury last night. The guy lives on the edge doesn't he?! Such an obsessive, compulsive personality. I struggle to see him fighting at the top level for more than a couple of years. I really hope he does because he seems to have turned himself around. Despite all his previous misdemeanors, it's really difficult not to like him.

He's basically the home fighter in Vegas compared to Wilder. I think people who say he can't get a decision with American judges are just repeating a cliche they've heard in the past.

The last fight didn't have a single american judge on the panel.

The 3 judges were Mexican, Canadian and British, with the Brit scoring it as a draw...the Mexican judge scoring Wilder 4 points up...absolutely incredible to be honest.

But to be honest, it wasn't the first time I was shocked at the decision making of the judges in Boxing, nor will it be the last.

Speculation on the other board that his cut opened during camp. First i've heard of it. Anyone else heard that?

Haven't heard anything serious about the cut but he joked in the press conference that it was 'terrible' and it opens up everytime it gets touched. Was obviously being sarcastic though.
