Wilder shows his limited ability - AGAIN

QPRs first home game with their new gaffer and you know they are out to impress - therefore for us the task is made even harder when you have a ‘sophisticated’ bull shatter of a manager who professes to be this ‘all knowing’ ‘wise owl’ yet he can’t pick the correct style forwards in a game whereby everyone knows we needed some physical presence up top so to pick forss and watmore together wasn’t just the wrong decision : for me it highlighted a manager who doesn’t know what he’s doing….

And to leave fry on the bench when they have 4 players who are 6,4 or more…..
his job is to make us tough to beat until he gets reinforcements in but he’s proving himself to be short in vital areas for me.

As I said a few weeks before the season but got a barrage of derision (bless most of you blind faith followers of an over confident 2nd hand car sales man)

Safe to say, I see right through Chris Wilder.
One trick pony tactically and now can’t pick the correct team yet let’s blame the ref for some distraction tactics…

I’m not convinced he’s developing much team spirit either and that’s everything if you want to be a success in football.

You show your limited ability every time you post.

He’ll be bemoaning the recruitment team next for his limitations when he’s busy getting little out of the squad he already has.

You lot are hilarious….Chris Wilder is just a more sophisticated Gary Monk and with a bit more success behind him to ‘protect’ him from being criticised however, I see through him and his limited tactics….every time he is sussed out he reacts to slowly and it isn’t enough.

Out thought and out fought by an average team beating another AVERAGE team folks.

We have all seen this act many times over , only the names change !!!!!, couple of results going correct , it becomes , ah but what about etc , get some originality if you wish to dangle the bait ,

We desperately need two CMs; MF is being over-run / bypassed frequently and we missed Tav's industry yesterday.
2 CMs and 2 CFs with a further 2-3 additions, give them time to settle in. Let's see where we are in October after a dozen games or so.

If we had won our first two games, fans get carried away, champions by Xmas. If we lost them both, disorderly queue forming at the Transporter Bridge. There's a bit of middle ground. We were very good first half against West Brom. We were good second half yesterday. It's not all bad - but definitely not good. Plenty to work on.

44 games, 132 points to play for 👍

It is way to early for this type of attack on the manager. Let’s see where we are when we have played more than a dozen or so games and the window is shut. The first half was a shambles but at least we regrouped and Gave it a go in the second. Reactionary posts like this writing off the manager in the second game of the season is just comical really

Diego
The first half was a shambles because almost all fans thought CW picked the wrong team
No fry. Clearly an error
A striker up top who could at least hold onto the ball; watmore and forss CANNOT do that and how come CW can’t see that ?
By that time the game has gone with too much momentum with the other team
This happened time and a again last season under wilder and he doesn’t learn
That’s why he’s a one trick pony

For some reason, we cannot seem to get players in or deals over the line. Now I know that will be for various reasons. I also accept we need to get the best deal for the football club. However, somewhere in the chain of command, there seems to be a blocker. I don't think it's Scott, I know Gibbo (if rumours are to be believed) has put a stop on one or two signings, and it can't be Wilder as he only puts forward players he feels would fit the system he wants. This leads me to believe Bausor is the stumbling block.
I know we don't have fortunes, I know we need to be realistic, but for crying out loud, why can we never get a deal done in time? It's glaringly obvious the areas we need to resolve. We do have probably the £25 mil combined from the Tav/Spence/Mel Morris donation and we've spent 5.5 mil. Good business so far but, if we want to genuinely go up, we need to get in some quality. If we're bickering over the odd 500,000 here or sell on clauses there, lets just get them in, and if they dont perform those clauses/"not much cost to us" costs will not really put a dent in our finances. I love the Boro but we do seem to just faff on for ages.

Some deals are straightforward, most are not. Think we have a few problems attracting players to Teesside without paying large transfer fees and OTT wages which we have done in the past.
Teams know we have a (perceived) £25m transfer kitty so if we enquire about a player there may be an extra couple of million slapped on the price. Gibson won't have this.
A lot of PL clubs have mentioned how difficult is to sign players, teams with 5-10 times our transfer budget, so it seems there is a knock on effect for all clubs.
Having decent Championship players suddenly being valued at £20m+ assume with £50k week wage expectations does not help anyone.
We don't deal with certain agents (or certainly didn't use to) so that could limit the players we are looking at.
We don't pay stupid agent fees.
Is Scott and his department fully up to speed? (I hope so!!)
A lot of clubs are skint do are trying to maximise their revenue when selling players - maybe a few years ago they would be more accommodating in the fee. Now they NEED the money, no budging.

So loads of reason/scenarios why deals are taking an age/not happening.

It's massively frustrating, but it's not just us.

The OP is full of the sort of reactionary sh*te that made me stop reading this forum for two or three years after relegation in 2017. Some of the stuff people post is completely bizarre.

Two small points - Wilder’s had how many promotions? Managed for how many years? He’s probably done 1000 games or so by now. Second, teams with no team spirit don’t come back like we did yesterday.

People are so precious at times. We lost a game of football. Is Dean Smith a busted flush? I think Norwich have a point from their two games, same as us. There’s absolutely no patience from some people. In fact it reminds of 2014/15, when we lost two of our first three games and Aitor and Bausor were getting absolutely slaughtered on here.

This rush to reach and proclaim a definitive judgment on things, to be proven right or superior in some way, is just really unhealthy IMO.

Yeah but he’s limited and just a more sophisticated Gary monk 🤷‍♀️

Which "second-hand car salesman" would you prefer?

How many years have you managed professional football teams again?

Did your magic crystal ball tell you forsse couldn't hold onto a ball? Obviously hes terrible played 1, scored 1. You must have some outstanding analytical skills, I mean in the 30mins he played prior to the QPR match you where able to come to such conclusions, you are wasted in your current career.

What are you getting at?

Joking apart I share your concerns about CW's completism and inflexibility, but as always there's hindsight and the team spirit seems to be intact, or else no fightback. And they were big enough to applaud the travelling fans at the end.

Wilder has bags of ability. The side is not and will not be strong enough to go up this year, it is what it is. Lets consolidate and keep the tav / spence money in the bank for FFP etc. Were lucky to have wilder, without him this squad would really struggle, with him its competitive. But one thing is certain, 5 players will not be enough to get us anywhere near a promotion challenge so please Buddha don't go out and spend big this year!!!! Let's make sure we can challenge over the next few years. I'm enjoying the ride, I just really don't want us to go for broke this year
