The wording does tend that Gibson is making a statement doesn’t it.Seems that the decision was riven by more than just results, although they have been poor for some time.
I really hope we manage to make a good appointment, but I fear we're going from the frying pan into the fire.
Well, while I was joking, he is an experienced coach and had been appointed a manager before the tragedy with his family so it's not as outlandish as it might sound. You can guarantee if results improve dramatically over next few weeks that Gibson will seriously consider it, he loves the idea of a rookie manager coming good. All his best appointments have been first time managers.Well, the players would probably run through brick walls for Leo, so it may not be all that bad.
I thought it would be after wed but that line up was basically a suicide note wasn’t it.Was obviously coming after Saturday - the players had no belief in the fella/didn’t like him
Surely he only has to give a weeks notice in a new jobShould have got the Rotherham manager after we played them he went to Derby....
Why shouldn't it? It was his first foray into the 2nd tier and he struggled. Do we want another manager cutting his teeth? I would rather we go for somebody with gravitas. Burnley did brilliantly to get Kompany and many poured scorn on that idea. We want fresh ideas and a new start and a name who can attract players to the North East the way Robbo did.Rob Edwards would be an excellent appointment IMO.
I think he's a very very good up and coming manager.
That Watford sacking should take nothing away from him.
I wouldn't be against that appointment.Bielsa will no doubt get mentioned.
it felt like a last throw of the dice, out of ideas selectionUnfortunately, it was inevitable after choosing that line up versus Coventry and losing.
