Wilder Rumours

The new Bournemouth owners may very well have Wilder on their shortlist, nothing he can do about that. It doesn't mean he definitely wants to go.
That journalist is speculating that if they approach him he will go. That is all that is - speculation.
This despite Wilder already ruling himself out of that job.

2+2=??
Disappointing end to window + Premier League interest = Wilder is off.

If both the club and Wilder feel he has taken us as far as he can then he probably will go soon. Otherwise I think he will be committed to getting it right in the next two windows and going for top 2 next season, if not the play offs this season.

I hope so.

This all comes back to Wilder being aggrieved thinking he was wronged by what happened after he got the chop at Sheff Utd and his next gig should have been in the Prem. He is determined to get back there and they way he sees best to do that is flirt with every job available, rather than get us there.
He should never have taken this job then.

Say we sacked Wilder and had to pay him £1 million compo for the rest of his contract, does that contribute towards your FFP? Assume it would.

When the inevitable does happen, I could see it being very messy. If Wilder’s “camp” are touting him about, then surely that would be breach of contract and Gibson would no doubt challenge paying any compo.

All ifs and buts I know, but it’s not going to end well.

As I’ve said previously though, I hope this is all a load of nonsense and the club and Wilder put it to bed ASAP.

This has nothing to do with the club ( if true) only wilder can put it to bed.

They can’t put it to bed. It’s three weeks since Wilder was first linked with Bournemouth and said he wasn’t going and was focused on Boro. After the Burnley links - he could and should have addressed them sooner, we know that - but he said unequivocally that he was staying with the club. But it wasn’t enough. Those rumours are still swirling around, feeding into these ones.

It’ll go on like this until he leaves, and then people can say “see, I told you he was going/touting himself about/untrustworthy.”

But he can’t be expected to be fielding this stuff whenever it pops up online, surely.

As the late Derek Acorah once said: “To the believer no proof is necessary, to the non-believer no proof is possible.”

You can apply that to Boro and Wilder IMO. It won’t ever go away now simply because some people won’t allow it to.

Can we stop this stupid game of rumour and speculation - none of us have any idea at all whether anything is going on.
We can go round in circles winding each other up - claiming we have inside knowledge - as in we heard it direct - rather than read it on twitter.
Let's stop it now before some on here totally blow a gasket.

He came out directly and said he wasn't going to Bournemouth - he always stressed how he likes to commit himself long term to clubs. He pointed to his record and has said that many times. So, Wilder put it to bed at the very start. He cannot be expected to keep on making statements.

My biggest worry with wilder is the fact there are no academy players on his bench ( rarely if ever) and this flies in the face of what we all know the clubs philosophy is based on. Look at howson new role to see that.

I can’t for one minute think Steve Gibson Is happy with this given the time and money we have ploughed into our academy to see largely sidelined at senior level.

It just appears on the outside to be a complete clash of ideologies.
There were no academy players on the bench under Karanka, but nobody seemed to mind (y)

Depends on the contract, I'd expect there will be some clauses that if he applies for a job then it's gross misconduct. Therefore if he did apply for another job he would be sacked without compensation and sued for the remaining value of the contract.

Don’t worry Gibbo was stung badly over monk he won’t be making that mistakes again.

Certainly is a big match now. Cannot afford to go 3-0 down in this one.
We need a win to stop a gap forming as that’s when it gets worrying.

As it’s still early days and we could make up ground quickly with a few wins but we need to start getting wins soon.
