It's a fact that when there is an absence of information people will always fill it themselves.
The whole thing has been laughable and more than just a bit cringeworthy seeing how out of shape some people have got themsleves.

There is a faction of support that decided very early on that they don't want Wilder, the Burnley thing was a case of 2+2 = 5 but it has set a narrative that Wilder isn't committed to the club and sees us as a stepping stone to elsewhere, the Bournemouth rumours were the next step in trying to perpetuate the myth of a disinterested, want away Wilder, I'm not sure what they are meant to achieve, if there was any weight or salience of truth in Wilder courting other clubs, Gibson would sack him, if results don't improve he may still sack him yet, but Gibson isn't going to replace a manager on the back of some ill judged tittle tattle or misinformed gossip.
October is an important month and whilst I'm of the opinion that we've played better than results suggest and that we will turn a corner there does come a point where conjecture is no longer relevant and the black and white of the league table becomes the only judge of performance.
