Wilder promising big overhaul - some development on Monday

Had anyone got a link to the tees interview?
I listened to the one on mfc site but sounds like it was a different interview and I haven’t heard yet.
Thanks

All speculation this stuff. Fun to talk about but I’m not sure how anyone on here can be so sure what’s going to happen. Hopefully a team full of hungry players can deliver for us next year.

Interesting that he sounded reasonably advanced in bringing players in as well. That's a somewhat different task if you're prepping for Championship vs PL, which suggests he knew fine well we weren't going up, although I guess no reason why they wouldn't be working on multiple lists at the same time...
Yes I think all clubs in our position will have an A book and a B book of targets depending on the league we’re in with a few cross overs thrown in.

mebbe he should have the team gathering at James Cook's..sounds like a bit of a bloodbath tomorrow...

Not many fans were complaining about our lack of quality and fight a few months ago when we were flying.

The recent form is alarming but Wilder isn't separate from that, throwing the players under the bus sounds just like Pulis and Warnock.

He's right that changes need to be made but actions will speak louder than words, he had a brilliant start here but he's also been part of an awful finish.

Its not just the players, he needs to be better as well.

The worrying part is every area of the pitch needs new blood. Frightening. We conceded the second highest number of goals in the top ten. A fact that has largely been hidden by the useless misfits we have as strikers. Midfield rarely dictate and help dominate a game.

Goalkeeper? We know the problems there. So a rebuild to rank with the highest we have witnessed.

Big build then

Words are cheap, as they say but you could hear the emotion in his voice & most likely Leo's words of wisdom to him made him realsie that something special could be built here

Listened to his interview on the radio. I was impressed with what he said and how he said it.
One noticeable thing I took on aboard was how he had made his mind up about certain players a few months ago and I believe he never said anything then so as not to upset the applecart as we were picking up points quite regularly.

The summer silly season will be interesting to say the least.

We were a much better side against Stoke. The main reason being that McNair wasn’t playing out of position at the back.
Wilder will get things right here, I’m confident of that. I’ve watched enough football to see what it is he’s trying to do. However, for most of the season he’s been shackled as he’s inherited WArnocks team( no criticism I was a big fan).

Importantly we lost £30M in the full covid season, so we are going to have to sell assets for the good of the club, we know there is a good fee due for spence but we might be surprised with a few others getting sold as sadly there are too many in our squad we wont get fees for due to their age, the general situation in football.

that really depends on Steve Gibson.

We don't have to sell to cover loses unless Gibson chooses to. He seems committed to getting us up, so I suspect he won't sell to cover losses, and is more likely to invest.

For us FFP is the limiting factor and what might force us to make some sales. But we invest in Payero, Uche, Crooks, McGree, Boyd-Munce, plus wages on a load of other players. So somewhere between 6.5m-10.5m committed this season without selling.

If we sell Spence for 20m we could have space for 30m in transfer fees, if we sell one or 2 others it could go above 40m. I'd trust Wilder with that sort of money to put a good team on the pitch

I don't doubt Gibson will back Wilder and the club, and I have seen reported Gibson has stated he would not call in the clubs debt, BUT as Bolton found out things can change if something happened to Steve Gibson what then?
Ultimately as a business we need to balance the books or at least reduce the debt substantially, although stay in the premier for at least two seasons and we would eb OK.

That's the way it is I suppose in the Championship. If you don't get promoted you've got to generate some income to go again. It's risky as you've got to recruit well and cheaply but if you get it right you can have success. Our problem is that every closed season we seem to have to buy too many players which spreads your finances to thinly.

Hopefully our recruitment team have their eyes on a few bargains in lower leagues who can step up, or the likes of ged wallace at Millwall, Kiefer Moore will Bournmouth want him in the prem? still think good times ahead as there are changes coming and change is what we need

I don't think there will be any "big announcements" tomorrow, this will be very much behind the scenes, so I wouldn't expect anything public.
You’d think so, but there is going to be some sort of information released as why else would he say what he did?

Whether it’s just the announcement of Howson’s new contract and out of contract players not being offered new deals, I don’t know.

There certainly won’t be announcements like McNair is no longer needed, as that instantly lowers any asking price.

I’m intrigued to see what happens tomorrow, but you are right it will probably be a bit of an anti-climax.
