Wilder not expecting any other senior departures, apart from Spence

I'm guessing that he had the option to sell and raise funds, especially if Spence was sold for 10m and we couldn't get rid of deadwood like Lumley. But that all seems to be falling into place and we go with plan A instead, rinse Spurs for Spence and get the wages of the deadwood off the books. Then reinvest in forwards
 
Maybe they’ve not happened because we can’t get who he wants to replace / upgrade on them so he’s decided to stick with what he’s got…?

Or maybe the surprise is a twist in the tail he’s got planned…? All dead cunning like.
 
If we keep Tavernier, Fry and McNair, I'll be happy, reduces the size of the rebuild needed and they're good players for us.

I presume he's excluding half a dozen fringe players that I'm expecting to be moved on from his definition of senior, despite some of them being significantly older than Tav and Fry.
 
As things currently stand we are a long way off the squad required. A long way.
Need 3 good strikers, a good LCB, a good DCM and 2 wing back covers.
I think we will get them, but until we do I am optimistic rather than confident.

Apparently Red Faction said they were willing to go without a LCB and that McNair would 'do a job' there again this season, if it meant the club would charter a jet to Portugal for them with the money they would save... 😅

Ideally yes. I think that's about right. But, the transfer window closes in 10 weeks and we seem to be in advanced talks with several players.

We could with a bit of luck get away without a LCB, without wingback cover (utilise Fisher and Bola), and even a DCM and still be a play off side. But the strikers are the key here, we can't go in as we are with Watmore and Coburn, we need a bare minmum of 2 top champo strikers

Agree with this, though id rather Dijksteel covered RWB than Fisher using Fry or Lenihan in the right sided centreback position if hes needed to cover.
