Why would you ever drive north of London..twice?

Hey it worked!
Corbyn was not the issue for me the issue was Brexit policy.

This is where labour are falling down. Brexit will be some, Corbyn is gone therefore these voters will just come back. It doesn’t work like that. You have to win these votes back. Disbelieving anyone who told you they switched to Tory and dishing out abuse (some not all) is not the way to do it

If only Brexit was the abiding issue now. It isnt anymore. Its been done. More important issues to deal with now. Like how to protect the under privileged in what will be the deepest recession in our lifetime to come.

You can be damn sure the right will use brexit to stoke up support by either a) claiming the EU were the enemy because they are punishing us, b) we got brexit done and we'll get those trade deals in the microwave and warmed up if you vote us back in, or c) You can't trust Labour, they want to take us back into the EU

All of it will be as truthful as "Turkey are joining the EU", "We don't want to be part of an EU army", "£350 million a week for the NHS" and "say no to unelected bureaucrats", but it will still resonate with some people and earn them some votes.

That’s the good thing about brexit, it’s all about getting it. Not what brexit will then be used to do, or what Brexit will do to us.

They visualise themselves as cats that got the cream, while in fact they are more like the dog that caught the car.

I've nothing against Cooper, but you need to remember that this isn't just a football message board. It's a football fanzine message board. Born out of a progressive movement railing against the way that football fans were treated under the Tories in the eighties. Remember Thatcher's membership scheme? It's not surprising that a fanzine board for a north east club should be left leaning. I've no problem with Tories being on here, but they should behave as if they are in an away pub, zip their jackets up to hide their colours and chat politely on matters other than politics.
We'll I've seen & read it all now, what gives you the right to tell individuals what they can & can't say on do on here
You've no problem Tories been on here, how very noble of you on that
About the only thing I agree with you on is that it's a football message board

I never once heard my dad use the word 'hate' in his, life & he left us age 83, which I follow, yet I've read on here on different posters that they 'hate' voters who voted for the Conservatives, or Brexit
How could you think like that, to the good genuine posters who are against the present government, you know who you are, then I apologise, this rant is not aimed at you

Good post Erimus. I think Paterson is probably stuck in the 80s and doesn’t realise there was a wave of conservative voters who don’t even remember that period. I imagine him complaining if a woman came in the bar in the working mans club type of person.

Some like Paterson need to realise this is a message board for MFC fans first and foremost and everyone has the right to express their opinion within the rules

FFS how many times? It's a FANZINE message board. You have to expect a left wing bias. Would you go on Mumsnet, tell them that Herod was just misunderstood, and expect an easy ride?

No one said not to expect a left wing bias or people with more right wing views to have an easy ride. What you are advocating is that if you don’t have a left leaning political view then you should keep your mouth shut.

So the example you just gave wasn’t what you were saying

This forum is fascinating. I understand extreme views have to be questioned, and in really extreme cases not tolerating these views is important and action should be taken. However, differing opinions are hardly extremist. There are some right and left wing view points, certainly more left leaning on this site I find, both should be engaged with.

If you disagree with opinions you have three options, block the poster, ignore it, or engage with it.

I think Paterson is probably stuck in the 80s .... I imagine him complaining if a woman came in the bar in the working mans club type of person.

You don't know the half of it. He insists on finding his own way to places and his missus is only allowed to suggest asking for directions once they have been hopelessly lost for hours.
