Why is it no balls get called so late ?

Has been a fair few no balls in this test bowled by India. The call of these is delayed till after the batsman has played the delivery. Surely he could be more expansive if he knew earlier- and possibly hit a few more boundaries.

Is there a new law about the no ball situation?

Because every ball is being checked by the off field umpire who then relays it to the on field umpire.

On field umpires don't bother looking now.

Ridiculous the delay - does spoil it as India must have bowled nigh on 30 no balls. It also takes away the advantage a no ball offers! Progress I guess.....

It only takes away the advantage of having a free hit. The plus side is it ensures that all no balls are called so extra runs are gathered and also ensures bowlers have to bowl the extra balls/overs and get more tired out.

Either way the advantage of not being out of a no ball is retained
