Why doesnt gibbo talk to the fans

Ultimately if/when the performances on the pitch markedly improve - ie become serious playoff contenders - and fans stop moaning about every fooking thing Boro related, bit of stability with the manager and the clubs management structure looks to be working, he'll probably do some PR Easter time around ST renewal time.

Before this, can't see anything changing sadly. He knows what questions will be asked, he knows he's bolloxed numerous manager appointments so until things make a huge turn for the better things will crack on as is.
Someone on here labelled us a bunch of "whinging fannies" which I thought summed things up perfectly 🤣

Experience.

Do you think he's not negotiating with a potential manager and why?
I have absolutely no idea because nothing has been said, which is sort of the point of this thread. We may be going with Leo for the foreseeable, which is what Leo said he will do until told otherwise.

In the current climate of instantly gratifying info from social media it's an easy trap to fall in to. Expecting / demanding updates on a daily basis.
Gibson is probably a very busy man. Running a business and a football club. A football club that is in the throws of employing a new manager. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume putting out a running commentary on the new manager appointment process is a little way down on his to do list. Not least to mention the morality of commentating on what are confidential discussions between chairman and prospective future employees.

I too would like to hear more from our chairman. But I also understand that I have no real right to demand it. Like some on here seem to think they do.

Lets wait for an official announcement, and see how that is handled before everyone castigates the club's hierarchy for not appeasing the supporters demands for a blow by blow account of what is happening.
Good post BigAl !!

The completion of fairly complex deals (like this one appears to be) can so easily be jeopardized by well-intended statements and actions from the parties involved and (now so more than ever) by rampant and inaccurate interpretations from others therefrom.

Non-Disclosure-Agreements and the confidentiality of discussions with prospective future employees have therefore become extremely critical parts to this process.

I would say the parties to these prospective deals are rightfully and respectfully abiding by that.

I get the impression he loves the club but not the fanbase. I can't remember any direct praise for Boro fans in his tenure.

He stated previously he's shouldn't have listened to them and sacked southgate when the reality was most of the fans didn't want gareth appointed in the first place.

But we know that’s not what’s happening? If it’s on SSN it’s pretty concrete. You can no longer bet on the next boro manager. Carrick will be appointed.

It's not exclusive to Boro - far worse fans in the country moaning about not spaffing £50-60-70m on players. Boo when they are 1-0 down at half time as they simply expect to win. First world problems eh?

Why doesnt gibbo talk to the fans

Because he doesn’t want to….
The last time he spoke to me was at Schiphol Airport after the cup game at AZ Alkmaar. If I hadn’t virtually tripped over him, I’m sure he wouldn’t have spoke then either. 🤫

Gibson doesn't talk to the fanbase for a number of reasons:
1. He is contemptuous of the fanbase. He hasn't the will.
2. He is a really poor communicator, can get rattled very easily and does not accept challenge at all. He hasn't the skill.

I'm not bothered he doesn't personally speak as we are not missing much, but I find it utterly bizarre that neither the Chief Exec and "Head of Football" don't communicate.
Leaving Leo Percovich to front the club with the media shows dis-respect to Leo and contempt to everyone else.

May I ask, your two points do you know these to be fact? Or is it your view of the man that has helped you in your decision to make things up?

Been a fan 60 odd years and he's never asked me around for dinner or nothing.
I also worked for the NHS for 30 yrs and not one health minister asked me out for a drink.
Maybe it's just me.

Bit of a pointless analogy, but well done for working for the NHS for so long.

Is that why you weren’t at the game Saturday Steve? Did you have a shift at James Cook

I guess we will go for made up then.

Exactly this I posted about this below as he (Leo) could edgily be tripped up in one of those interviews.

He has left Leo to flounder..what about Scott...couldn't he come out....bausor...
What's wrong with these people...are they afraid of feedback.....feedback is the mother of invention as they say....
Gibbo get out and speak to the boro fans when carrick is appointed tell us your plan...what direction ...big signings or academy people...or both.....
Seriously ot would be nice to have some form of relationship with the gaffer...

I'm certain one of his 2 lackys will speak to the press once a manager is in place, before that there is very little they can detail that will add anything meaningful, they would look daft if talked about bringing carrick in or going one way only to go another if thats how things turned out, but no excuses once the man is revealed
