Why do we still use glass?

It’s fragile and dangerous. Surely in this technological world we live in there is a better alternative that doesn’t break and cut people?

Commodity plastic is nowhere near as good as glass. You clean it a few times and it hazes up and you can't see through it.

Cutting toast in half lengthways is pretty bad in my book. I occasionally do it just to see how much it messes with my brain.

Well the hardened plastic glasses given out at sporting events are recyclable but the drink just doesn’t taste the same as from a glass in a pub. Glass is dangerous if in the hands of a d1ckhead or Frank Spencer.

If you drop a glass in a pub these days it shatters like safety glass, not like old says when you got dangerous shards.

I bought a big sheet of tinted glass for a table (glass made to measure by a great bloke in Boro) told him I was shïtting myself about handling it and said it was the same with the stuff outside on the tables. He explained about it being safety glass and smashed a piece to show me. perfectly safe. Said it happened all the time when they were handling big sheets. Put my mind at rest.
