Why do the Aaron Connolly threads keep getting locked or deleted?

Surely there's nothing wrong in discussing a new signing and his decision to take a trip out to Newcastle on a bank holiday Sunday on his first day as a Boro player, when A) he has previous for getting mixed up in the wrong crowds and B) Boro are trying to keep a close control on Covid outbreaks. Wilder himself only recently mentioned they'd curtailed big trips out to avoid Covid outbreaks.

Not trying to cause trouble. I just don't see the reason for the drastic administration.

Maybe give the lad a break, he hasn’t kicked a ball for us in training yet has he and folks are jumping on the back of what Brighton fans have to say about him. Makes no sense at all to try and make trouble for a player who could be very big for us this year. Nobody is perfect, we’ve had plenty of players that have not fit in at their clubs or have had problems elsewhere. Let’s get behind the lad FFS let him do his talking on the pitch!

A Christmas party isn't the same thing as going out for a meal with your partner.

It isn't at all.
One is a big group of individual househoulds, the other is a pair that presumably live together.

He's deliberately visiting a place with a high density of people, where the chance of catching Covid is very high. The principle is the same. It's also not very bright.

I only read one thread, which seemed reasonably balanced.
I do get puzzled sometimes with the actions taken by admin.

Footballers are allowed to leave their cage between matches.
I think people have a right to think is this within current protocols given how widespread the virus is right now, and this being his first day at the club

your known as to like a party/drink. First thing you do is post on social media of yourself ‘socialising’. People are going to jump to conclusions. If you go out for a meal, how about just keep it off social media

This.

Everything I’ve read about this guy is about how his talent has been stifled by his attitude.
It’s not a great start is it? I mean going out with a girl off Love Island isn’t exactly keeping a low profile is it. I’ve also just read on twitter he’s been having a pop at Brighton fans via DM these past few days as well. Oh well.
