Why did we sign Forss?

Has anyone actually seen enough of Forss or Hoppe play to merit an opinion on them? I certainly haven't & it doesn't look like any of us are going to get a chance to anytime soon.

What I don't understand is how often he'd be switching the strikers last year despite it being obvious that certain strikers weren't good enough. With people saying this is thing and he looks to run them into the ground in the game then change them. But this year he won't even give the other options a real opportunity.

I agree with this, but the key thing is wilder will see them in training every session whereas we won't.

Based on what ???

Hoppe has scored 2 in i21 and hit the bat on Friday v Newcastle so again what are you casing your evaluation on???
He’s scored six senior goals in his entire career.

I have a mate in NYC who follows the US team, asked him his thoughts when we signed him “£3m is an awful lot for you guys to spend on somebody with no track record. I’m not saying write him off but I’d assume he’s a development player and won’t have much of an impact this season”.

This is true, how many chances did Connelly get? It was clear he wasn’t up to it.

He was a Wilder signing I believe as was Balogun.

I prefer to judge players by actually watching them though.

If the manager feels we have more chance of rescuing a point by putting McNair on ahead of a £3m striker signing as our last sub then what is going on?
I get the feeling that there are points being made behind the scenes.

Not starting with either Jones or Giles - very strange

Not having Luongo even on the bench yesterday was odd (maybe fitness?)

Forss is a bit of strange one as he hasn't be used a lot coming on as a sub.

He is 4th choice striker when if only one striker is played the chances of getting one the pitch are very limited. When we play 2 up front I would have thought he had been inter changed more with Watmore, when Akpom was out particularly.

He scored 5 last season, fourth top scorer in the club. As a centre back.
A goal every 10 games is hardly impressive for a player of his skill set. Given he takes a good majority of free kicks he should be scoring more.

Don't get me wrong, I like him as a player but he should be doing better.

He was fourth top scorer as a centre back. Equal with Tav, and scored only a couple less than our two main strikers.

He was in a side that didn't score many goals. 5 over a season for a centre back in such a side is absolutely a good return.
