Why did Warnock quit Huddersfield for Plymouth?

He'd just got them up, and Argyle had just been relegated.

I've read his book and can't remember, but am certain its mentioned.

I lived in Cornwall and it's like a separate entity. Well out of the way of the rest of GB and easy to access Europe. Plenty of beaches, water and sun too. A great place. Not at all like the insular place that Straw Dogs for instance depicted it.
Although the people would not say no to independence.

I knew nothing about this until yesterday so I'm only going off the snippets mentioned in place but it seems like he wasn't getting on with the Huddersfield board and there were money issues, not sure if that's money for transfers or Warnock's wages so he quit. He went to Plymouth because they threw a load of money at the team so it was too good to turn down. It didn't sound like he left Huddersfield for Plymouth, he left Huddersfield and then was offered the job at Plymouth a short time after.

Re: Sheff Utd his boyhood team so a bit like Mogga or Woodgate taking the Boro job. London is a pull for most people unfortunately, you only have to look at the quality of players that some of the teams that are historically much less successful than Boro can attract, i.e. QPR, Fulham, Brentford, Palace & Watford

Loved my past two visits to Cornwall. Lovely part of the world and like you say, has a feeling of been disconnected from everywhere else.

As a Plymouth resident, I can tell you that Mr Warnock is still held in high regard down here by Argyle fans.
I will continue to do my best to acquire us some plastic Boro fans from the Green Army!

Cornwall is different and different parts of Cornwall are different. Parts are almost lunar, other parts are like Whitby and there are some great gardens (because there is little or no frost), its a long coast line because it is 75% an island. I love to visit, but I would not want to live there, too many tourists, too remote, too expensive and it can be very windy and wet. Lived in Whitby and trying to ordinary things such finding a parking spot can be a nightmare on a daily basis. It used to be 20 miles to visit a cinema or night club and public transport was limited.
