Who was the last “in contract”” player we sold ??

Lots of pessimistic talk about players leaving like Hackney but where is this coming from as I can’t remember the last player in contract that we sold purely for profit.

??? In contract means more than 1 year left.

I think Spence had more than a year left?
I don't think that really answers your question though: that was a player we really wanted to sell.

Exactly that’s my point unless I’m missing something I honestly can’t name our last sale for money only player that was in date and was playing for us.

Tav? Although not sure how long did he have left.

Let's be honest we've been letting multi millions of pounds players leave for nothing in the past. Simply because they are awful and nobody could match the wages we paid them. The likes of Britt / Saville / Fletcher to name a few. That alone is 29mil of players who left for nothing.

Thanks God we moved away from the 'pay anything' business model.

Saville was slightly different to the other 2. Didn't we still owe some of his transfer fee and that effectively became what we sold him for

Are you actually saying players who had more than one year ? Becuase Tav and Akpom both had one year left on their contract when sold. Or 10 months in reality but as they needed to go beyond June to get a free its splitting hairs

I’m saying we had to sell akpom and tav as they were soon to be out of contract but Hackney isn’t and so when did we last sell an in contract player purely for profit. ???

I can’t recall it.

Btw that doesn’t include after relegation either as again that wasn’t our CHOICE.

Of course it was our choice, aren’t players still in contract wether they have 6 months or 6 years left?

Not for a while. But then again, someone would actually want to sign them first.

We haven’t had many players recently, Tav and Chuba aside, who have been “too good” for us, and so attract interest from bigger clubs.

Tav had two years didn't he?

We all thought he was staying (including Wilder) then at the last minute he requested to go.

Although not officially confirmed it was probably a "gentleman's agreement" that he could leave if he wanted (think Warnock might have mentioned it at some point).
