Who is your favourite Boro back-up ‘keeper?

I have to raise Andy Collett’s debut at Hillsborough at the end of the 1992/93 season. We won 3-2 that day, I think Sir James Pollock scored one but not sure who scored the others, and Collett had a really, really good game for us. He was wearing that mad fluorescent ICI ‘keeper top and it was the days when the ‘keeper wore the same shorts and socks as the players. I think he was the fourth goalkeeper to play for us that season, I wonder if that’s a record. One for the boffins to work out there.

Pat Cuff because I scored a penalty against him at my junior school summer fete circa 1974. No self respecting professional keeper would deliberately let a little kid put one past him, so I must have done him with my pace, power and placement.
I was just going to post the same keeper. He even kept Jim Platt out of the team for a while.

I'll go Ian Ironside simply for the circumstances of his debut. Also, his son scored a goal for Cambridge that knocked Newcastle out of the cup a few years ago: what's not to like about that?

I remember Kevin Poole coming on as sub for Bolton at the Riverside and spilling a shot for Boateng to equaliser. He was certainly a popular back up that day.

I want to give a shout out to Dejan Stojanovic, because only 1,750 Boro fans ever saw him play live, and I was one of them. Charlton away in March 2020, just before everything shut down.

He went on to play 8 more games for the first team, but none of them had fans present.

I always liked Ross Turnbull. Thought he would do more at Boro.
