Who is not feeling it with Michael Carrick?

Open minded, because hopefully he will be.

Felt more and more like we were stuck with a formation the squad couldn't support with Wilder - or at least the sectors of the squad he was prepared to work with - and zero willingness to adapt accordingly.

At least Carrick won't come here with an "I'm Chris Wilder and I play Wilderball and nothing else because I'm all that" attitude and will see what we've got and what can work. Unless I'm being hopelessly naïve here.

I would've stuck with Wilder if his heart was in it. But it seems very likely things weren't right behind the scenes.

I don't think Gibson would've sacked him if he thought Wilder was fully committed. Whether there was any truth to the Burnley thing or he felt he was misled on recruitment or whatever, it seems pretty clear not everyone was on the same page. Throw in the results as well and it probably had become untenable.

It feels like a Agnew, Southgate or even a Woodgate type of appointment if true.

You pay cheap you pay twice.

I will support a Geordie managing the Boro and I hope I am wrong. It just seems like a “ten to two bird” in the Maddison type of appointment.

Underwhelmed and disappointed.

He is no better than Wilder.

Would also have stuck with Wilder if things were running in the same direction behind the scenes, our performances certainly haven't changed for the better since be left.

But there clearly were issues and there's no way of portraying his last 20 results as acceptable either, I think Carrick's a potentially exciting replacement though.

A risk, and there's plenty ot the unknown about it, but it could be something good.

All 3 of them were promoted from within the club as a cheap option.

I don't think bringing in Carrick and his coaching staff will be cheap.
2 of them are under contract elsewhere and Carrick's a high profile figure.

The golden rule of picking a football manager -

If you can sing their full name followed by Red army then it’s a good appointment!

🎶 Michael Carricks Red Army 🎶

It’s the cheap option which has gone so badly in the past, I give it 12 month before we rip things up and start again

If it’s true that WBA are interested I don’t think he will consider us anyway

What is it about Gibson giving people their first proper managerial job with us?
Boro seems to be a graveyard for managers and really can't see this one going any different.....would love to be wrong though...sick to my back teeth of watching sh ite
