Who do we sign in January to save us then?

The first we need is players who are specialists in the positions they are playing. That for me means at least one proper winger, possibly 2, dependent on how Jones develops back playing as a proper winger. We also need to get our best 2 proper full backs in the team. How Dijksteel is on the bench behind Smith is beyond me, and Bola is miles better than Giles as a traditional full back. Giles looks so uncomfortable playing there, it’s like he is unsure of how to play it.

Just the 22? Lots of young talent in there and quite a few that might need time to adjust/settle. Money is another issue.. also how many players can we actually register?

Midfielders are the order of the day a Grant Leadbitter? a Barry Robson? a Lee Cattermole.. probably two and then we could do with a Lee Tomlin, a Gaston Ramirez..

Michael Carrick needs all the favours pulling out, Steve Gibson needs all the favours and pennies from behind the settee, Keiron Scott needs to do whatever he was brought here to do!! Time got Jonathan Woodgate to dust of the PowerPoint..

sad to say but Crooks feels like a weak link all of a sudden, a shadow of his best form and too often suspended. Not saying he can't turn it around but he needs to sharpish. Howson was always going to be less effective this season and that's just time catching up on him not him becoming a bad player. Mowatt is probably better than we've seen soo far, Howson had a poor first season and turned it around to become our best player for several after it.

a weak link? he wasn’t playing and he’s been injured.

Coventry are now in a transfer embargo due to money owed to HMRC. I’ve just read on the BBC Championship page

Should have gone for Gyokeres in the summer and he meets the criteria. Knows where the net is and more importantly is in the notebook 📖🖌
How does a Gyokores sort out the midfielder or the defence?

I’ve mentioned Josh Campbell & Bojan Miovski myself, same with Pellistri and Garnacho. Not sure if the young uns would be ready to step up and battle it out at the bottom of the league.

7 George Dobson - Charlton
10 Siriki Dembele - Bournemouth- Loan
11 Bojan Miovski - Aberdeen
12 Kai Wagner - Philadelphia
22 Josh Campbell - Hibs

They would my top picks right now..
still building got the future, still players in there capable of stepping up (imo)

If the season finished today and Leicester, Wolves & Forest all hit relegated.. would we be able to match them the following season?

I felt we were close with the Monk & Pulis squad.. the two seasons with Warnock and Wilder felt close.

No the wheels feel like they’ve come off despite us being so close. We don’t have any league smashers atm and next season I fear we will be cut away from the pack.

As long as they have abit of pace it will improve the team no end. We literally only have Jones with pace in the starting 11.

I do think we have to take into consideration experience and the number of games these players have under their belts. We can’t afford players breaking down and the workload is going to be terrific. I would say 100+ games in the bag for anyone we’re looking at.. and some evidence of playing a high volume of football.

Anyone available for thirty bob and a saveloy! We are broke apparently and only hunt in bargain basement now for the likes of Mowatt, Smith etc or young projects like Forsse and Hoppe.
I worry fans are once again going to have expectations way beyond our Chairman’s ambitions and another damp squib of a window will bring more of the same. We will sign two journeymen at best and not on Premiership wages.

McGree was (signed from MLS) £3m, Hoppe was (signed from La Liga) £3m, Forss (signed from the prem) was £3m, Matt Clarke was £2.5m (signed from a prem club)

Steffen on loan from Man City who was on the bench for a champions league final..

We’re doing a very good impression of not being broke. Missed out on a prem loan on deadline day and we were flashing £10m around for another striker.

I think we will sign 5 or 6 in January depending on if Mowett goes back.

One or two on loan, then by the looks of it.. players in the £3m range from outside of the championship.
