Who are the players ‘over the line’

Did anyone spot Hoppe in the crowd given people were tracking that private jet from Mallorca to Teesside Airport on Friday night? If he was on that jet then surely he'll have been at the game?

I see McGree is the new boo boy this season because he isn't Tav.

Typical Boro 'support'.

To be fair I haven't seen anyone just blindly having a pop at McGree, I've just seen a number of people debating his performance and pointing out some aspects of his game that need to improve.

I don't think anyone thinks he's useless, just that perhaps the number 8 role in a Wilder team/formation perhaps isn't the best fit for him at the moment at this stage of his development. He's still young and he will improve.

I sincerely hope not - a 19 year old with a few minutes first team football under his belt is not the answer to filling Tav’s boots, even if they are classed as a highly promising player
I agree with you, but how old was Mount when he went to Derby as he seemed to do ok. Sometimes (very rarely) it does work, I guess it depends on how talented the individual is.

Derby's best players that season, by a margin, were all 'projects' on loan.

Without them they wouldn’t have been anywhere near the play offs.

Short term contracts, whether is a loanee like Steffen, or a free xfer like Smith, are essential to championship clubs operating within FFP.

I don't have an issue with either.

As Wilder pointed out McGree had been used in a #10 role for much of pre-season, so going back to an 8 may be a little getting used to.

Hope & Muniz, possibly Armstrong - if Akpom goes - & Coburn does go out on loan.
I'd be surprised if we had an immediate Tav replacement lined up as it was kind of out of left field ;-) & late in pre-season.
Another defender would be good too, CB & left sided....

Sure we'll see some movement as Premier League clubs will want to hit the ground running & can't delay their signings..

Not saying I think he should be, but I think he will be. At least one of two anyway based on Wilder’s comments yesterday.

He has played international football for Tunisia too, which is more than Tav has done.
