Quick question, mainly from my 16 year old. Is this match still going ahead as it seems to have disappeared from fixtures. He is due to get train with his mate's, so any help appreciated

Train from Middlesbrough, returning by bus from whitby

Whitby town website says they are playing a Middlesbrough XI on wednesday but no mention of that on the boro website. Says we are playing Morecambe on tuesday

Maybe because it's an under 23 team or Middlesbrough 11, which usually amounts to the same.

Was this another "revision" of services by Northern?
Last time I travelled on that fabulous line - there were two class 156 coaches, packed to standing with day-trippers, toilet out of use and totally inadequate.

I think there are only 4 trains a day to Whitby.
