Coming back to UK for 4 weeks September , Hope to take in a few games home and away.... Want a 2 day break in Whitby - cant wait for fish & chips at Trenchers .... and looking for personal recomendations for hotels.... Whats the Royal like these days?

Try the Wetherspoons that used to be The Angel on Harbour. Rooms are decent. At least mine was when I stayed a couple of years ago.

The White house is decent. Views over the cliffs and golf course at breakfast. Has its own car park which is handy

Another shout for the Wetherspoons if you don't mind it being a Wetherspoons... great location and was quite cheap when I stayed last year.

Raithwaite hall is top notch but is top dollar. Located in-between Whitby and Sandsend.

The White Horse & Griffin on Church Street is fabulous.
Excellent breakfast, lovely little character bar and very good rooms. And on the street for atmosphere.
Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Whitby

Staying there on Thursday and Friday this week. Glad to hear it's good. Always enjoyed the restaurant. Really looking forward to a trip back up north
