While NHS staff cannot get a Corona test

Probably because he's heir to the throne, and perhaps more importantly his mother is the monarch. He met with her as recently as March 12th I believe. Which definitely puts her at risk.

I can see why the republicans among us would feel negative towards Charles, but surely even they can see the critical importance of having the person who can sign Acts of Parliament into law, and her successor potentially become victims of the virus.

I think theres a fundamental question with this and we all know what it is.

The royal family are less and less relevant as time goes by and that has been accelerated by over a decade of failed austerity measures.

It's a matter if when, not if, the existence of the royal family ends and they know that as much as anyone.

Br14. If Charlie pegged it tomorrow there will be other people who will step into his role. Nurses and doctors are in short supply and at the moment they are irreplaceable. Virus tests are also in short supply. He only had mild symptoms, not enough to warrant a test for non royalty.

Although I agree with your statement, can you imagine the negative impact it would have if we lost the next monarch.

No one would be bothered if our wonderful Tory overlords pulled their fingers out and gave the frontline NHS staff the tests they need - of course they won’t and we all know why

It's obvious that every NHS worker should be tested, particularly the 50% of nurses sick or self-isolating in one London NHS trust.

While it's easy to understand, one test is hardly a big deal. Testing tens of thousands of NHS staff is. Which NHS staff member would you have preferred have the test? Not only that, but it makes absolutely no difference.

If it makes no difference, he AND his wife should not have been tested. Were the servants tested as well?

Actually one test could well be a huge deal to the NHS member that received it, their family and any people they come into contact with as a result of their employment. To suggest it makes absolutely no difference is so very wrong. Camilla was also tested too btw

I imagine he was not tested via the NHS but via private medical team, you can get yourself tested if you want to for about £375

As said above one test in the grand scheme of things. You are a loon if you think that members of parliament and the prime minister/cabinet are not getting tested. Likewise Trump, Macron etc, also how football players, Tom Hanks et al are getting tested.

He was served by the nhs. It would be important for him to be to do to ensure confidence remains with the nhs

If he got a private test the same people would still be complaining that he is paid by the taxpayer and got the the test ahead of them

I don’t think it’s hard to understand why he was tested as others have said

I do think we all understand why he got the test, what some of us are saying is in times like this there are more important people than Prince Charles that deserve testing. His is said to be mild so why could he not just self isolate like everyone else and allow every available test to be used for the greater good. This should not be something available to the rich and famous. Now is a time for us all to prioritise and not be selfish about things, you, me, everyone, rich or poor.

Actually I think the royal family are quite important that the heir of the throne doesn’t die for a number of reasons.

Not to freely see the queen. Not to die himself

These things would cause a massive distraction when we need sole focus on the task at hand
