Tell me what I have done wrong then. Apart from wing patronised on a thread about wanting Boro to get in the play offs and thinking we had a chance and liking a comment TeaCider made about Colukas Tav bashing being a weird comment. Which it was.

Europa Cup Semi Finals

Is it bitter of me to not want any medium size English club to get to the final and go one better than us? I didn't want Fulham to win it and I feel the same about West Ham. Is it just me?

There's the thread that caused the issue, I really don't think I've said anything particularly bad.

I immediately tried to elaborate on the comment when he took issue with it, and then find out a week later that he'd decided to leave the board over it.
 
I'm not about to take sides here or comment on any of the substance of this or the other thread.
What I will say though is this is why we have an ignore button. It is there so people should use it for whatever purpose they deem fit, be that so they don't see opinions that either upset or trigger them or to filter out content that they have no interest in.

I agree but I have always got on with Coluka and private message him recently about a **** time I once had on here so he has no reason to have me on ignore and I’d imagine it’s the same with Teacider. I worry he is of fragile mind right now and someone really out to speak to him if possible. I will try message him now.
 
I’ve just read the offending thread and honestly, the term storm in a teacup comes to mind.

I like Col and hope he stays around but I can’t help feeling that if I was in Diego or Teaciders shoes, I’d be a bit confused too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Let’s all just go and have a cup of tea and come back when the season restarts…
 
Nothing to do with the particular individuals referred to in this thread as I simply don’t know any of them and so can’t add informed comment but personally it feels like this Board gets more and more like Love Island every day. Lots of people dish out the snide comments, have a dig, put fellow posters down and seek to denigrate them and their views. Some even seem to consider themselves ‘royal’ posters with superior views that the lesser folk like us simply can’t appreciate nor have the right to challenge with our lesser brain power.
If we do challenge they throw their hands up in horror and we get the ‘do you know who they are’ comments from fellow self appointed Royals and sycophants. I currently ignore two people I feel act in this way as nobody’s opinion on here is more valid than the next persons. It’s a message board where Boro fans express views. It has a fairly competent Administrator who removes inappropriate posts. It has an ignore feature to stop seeing the comments of people you don’t want to read.
We don’t have gold card members - people don’t need to tell us how long they have posted for - it doesn’t make your comments any more interesting or informed. To survive the Board needs new blood - threads that spice things up and get good challenging debate going. This type of thread undermines that ambition.
Just stick to posting your opinions and accepting they will be challenged appropriately. If the challenge is inappropriate have the confidence Admin will deal with it or use the ignore button.

Thank you Fabio. It’s nice for someone to actually read the thread before bashing. Hopefully he returns and realises he’s a respected poster

I hope people don't give the 'do you know who I am' comments, I haven't seen any personally and I spend way too much time on here.

I don't buy that some people's opinions aren't more valid than others. We all have the right to have an opinion, and we all have the right to challenge opinions. Some people are simply more knowledgeable, experienced, even experts in certain topics. I guess this comes down to this question, "Is a messageboard a method of providing everyone with an equal voice, or is it a method of learning from others". People on here have very different experiences, education, knowledge, expertise, training, culture, character. It's fine to debate, it's what it's for, it's fine to listen and learn too, and far too many people aren't prepared to do that. Too many people thinking the knowledge they have attained in their life so far is enough to make them an expert on a topic, and anything they don't know isn't worth knowing. This give rise to a closed down and intellectually dishonest interaction. Then personality takes over as some people revert to abuse, and others retaliate and it decends.

I guess we all need to try and approach discussions with a bit of an attitude to listen to counter arguments, without taking it as a personal insult.

Haven’t seen any posts of that type either. Think the board has been the best it’s been for a while now, better than it has been in the past anyway

Is what it is mate. Before I would run away from the board but nah not now. I know what it’s like on here, people can turn on you very quickly for no reason at all. Teacider is a great poster and I enjoy his football related comments and threads. We have total different style of posting though, as you say, he is a more factual and statistical poster and a lot my posts are just opinion and memory based. If people want to put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5 then let them.
 
I think this whole situation is very sad. I only occasionally post but spend a great deal of time reading posts, virtually every thread actually, and it seems to me, for what it’s worth, that mountains have been made out of molehills.

I don’t like Boro supporters to fall out; by all means have different opinions, but life is too short to permanently exclude yourself from what is an erudite, supportive and entertaining group of folk with one goal in mind: for our team to do well.

Please don’t leave Col, answer Diego’s PM (I messaged him privately about a post once and he was dead fair and we have had a few PMs since) and continue to post.

Honestly, you will be sorely missed if you go.

Think you might be right, that reaction from Col is out of character for him. Fair play for reaching out to him.

Unless someone is clearly a troll I think it's always worth giving posters the benefit of the doubt. We don't know what's going on in their personal lives.

The idea put forward by some of you and Teacider being some sort of wind up merchant double act is laughable. Both really good posters.
 
I have no issues with any posters on here, if ever I do I will simply use the ignore button.
Diego, Teecider and Coluka are an integral part of FMTTM enjoy their postings, may not always agree with them but we all have our own opinions and that's why this is such a good forum, if we agree all the time it would be a boring place.
Please all continue to post, looking forward to more banter along the way.
