When's your first gig of the year due to be?

Wasn't going to put anything up as didn't want to be seen as having a good time while others are clearly suffering and doing 'the hard yards' as we say over here.
Got Crowded House in Nelson early March, Bill Bailey March too and then China Crisis in Welly July. Also, postponed David Gray 20th Anniversary tour of White ladder in November.

Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui all.
Gunna go to see the House, Bill Bailey and David Gray too NZB in Auckland.
Incidently David Gray's percussionist and co-writer on many of his songs is from Teesside. Craig McLune (Clunie), used to be drummer in the Flaming Mussolinis, a Teesside band from the 80s.

Yes we are seeing him in Auckland, have seen him a few times back in the day in the UK, never knew his drummer was a Teessider!! Wondering whether to do a bit of a tiki tour of the North or go to Waiheke again. We Had it all planned for last November and ended up spending a week on Waiheke which was lovely. Did the wineries and a good walk around.

Yeah I caught up with Clunie and David when they played in Auckland in mid 2000s. was great to see him again (we used to squat next door to each other in London too in the mid-late 1980s) and what a pair of totally unpretentious people they were.
Was a great show too.
Not many people seem to know Clune's from Teesside and given he probably gets about 10-20% of what David Gray earns, he's probably one of Teesside's most successful musicians ever - just a shame not many know about it.
Oh and as you can see in the video above Clunie has a terrific collection of Hawaiian shirts. He collects vintage Hawaiian shirts

Country 2 country 2020 in April.

Even with a years delays I can't see it happening. It was due the weekend before lockdown 1.0 was announced.
Well it was cancelled yesterday.

Just hear that Glastonbury has been cancelled too. Sad times

Hopefully.... HOPEFULLY - Highfield Festival, Leipzig 13-15 August this year

Bring Me The Horizon being the major highlight for me. After seeing them in Provinssi Festival (Finland) in 19 i've been waiting for an excuse... As a bonus we can fly from our local airport to Berlin (assuming normal service being resumed), which is only just over an hour away from Leipzig by train. Is it too much to ask for the Bundesliga to have started by then, and be allowing fans in? Probably, but you can dream...

Seems Glastonbury has gone.
Very hard to see any concerts going ahead this year in my (admittedly pessimistic) view

Download festival tweeted that they would have an announcement by March. I guess that would be an indication for all festivals in the UK

Selecter and From The Jam -
Rock City - postponed from last year.
Jacob Collier - Roundhouse
Stone Foundation - Rescue Rooms

The Stranglers have just postponed their UK tour until January/February 2022 although they do have some European dates in October, November & December this year.

Killers - rescheduled fom last year - can't see that happening.
James & Happy Mondays - December - probably

I’ve got End of the Road tickets from last year, hopefully that can go ahead this September.

I’ve got tickets for Goat Girl at the end of September in Brighton.

I’m surprised they are continuing after the loss of Dave Greenfield
