When do we all think life will go "back to normal" ?

What “mask prediction“ of yours has come true?
That's an easy one. Gone from mandatory to wear one for a five minute shopping trip to Asda to wearing one for two hours in a cinema for example. You know like every indoor public place now.
I mean it's still well short of the 10+ hours I wear one at work but I have to to get paid.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe masks weren't mandatory in cinemas from when they reopened.

I definitely wouldn’t have shot you down for advocating more use of masks.

Never.
As someone who suffers from depression I can’t see any reason to carry on. It will never be normal again.
Try to keep your chin up buddy . If you ever feel really low just drop me a line and we can meet for a coffee and I’ll be an ear for you . I can pick you up if you wish . just drop me a line directly on the link without posting on here . Think of NW and next season and things WILL pick up , especially for Boro fans 🤝

Kind offer - there is a lovely coffee shop in my town in Cambridgeshire but I suspect it’s a bit of a drive from Teesside just for a coffee.
But seriously....I’ve struggled on off for years, diagnosed with severe depression in December. Struggled to get support or therapy on the nhs because resources were shifted, then the therapy I was put on didn’t work ....

I said on the old board that mental heath will kill as many as the pandemic in the next yearand the lockdown in particular and got savaged....I stand by my comments. I just can’t see any way out.

I’ve been in a ’dark hole’ way too many times in the past myself . You’re never alone if you’re a Boro fan as we have loads in common . If you’re really low just come on here mate like now , it’s one of the fabulous talents of this board . Take care

This clip has been on here a few times and always lifts my spirit

There is always a way out without resorting to the worst ideas mate.

I was diagnosed with post natal depression believe it or not 6 months after my first child was born. Some might say they thought only women could get it. Wrong. I was a in a dark place but a lot better now after changing some things in my life, (job, time for myself, extra effort bonding with the kids etc).
The best thing people can do, especially us blokes is speak to someone. Can be a friend, relative or complete stranger. We all need to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and all of is have a responsibility to make that happen.

Sorry guys, this is a ridiculous thread. None of us , neither expert nor layman has a clue. Everyone desperately wants to be right but the hideous reality is nobody knows. We all have an obligation to do what we believe is the right thing to help ourselves and others, then we can only hope and pray the medical guys come up with a solution sooner rather than later.

'We all have an obligation to do what we believe is the right thing to help ourselves and others'

I wish my neighbours and most of the people in the area thought like this!!

Very frustrating Michael, seems to be a big divide between those who behave and have respect for others and the rest who clearly are completely selfish and don’t understand/care. This horrible situation clearly highlights this difference which is sadly evident in other aspects of daily life i e on our roads

Sounds a lot. Different from the USA where, for the most part, it's the opposite.
Just don't expect to retire in the US. When I was doing my costings, I discovered that even basic Medicare part B costs $144.60 a month and that does not cover everything and still has co-pays. At least I can get my US social security pension paid in sterling to my UK bank.
