When do we all think life will go "back to normal" ?

I know it may never go back to normal.... but when do you think we'll get something similar to it?

I'm thinking September / October 2021

I think this winter will be rough - potential vaccination scheme early next year and hopefully we can get on top of it

Vaccination may not be as quick as that. I think most have taken years before they were okay. Plus there's the issue of how quickly they can make it.
I hope you're correct but there's little from what we know at the moment to suggest that may be the case.
Happy to be corrected.

I suspect even after Starmer wins in 2024, it will take a few years to join EFTA and even then we won't be back at 'normal' because too much damage already done and irreversible.
Ha, love it, I hope you're correct in that assumption

I maybe a little pessimistic, but I think it's unlikely that 'our world' will return to what we'd call normal until late 2022 - early 2023 in terms of business levels and world economies, uptick in employment global travel and in general the confidence of some groups (old and vulnerable) to venture from their safe zones.

Hope I'm wrong of course, the next big risk is just around the corner...Winter is coming.

Really hope that the virus isn’t being spread at the moment. Drove down Redcar Sea front on the way from the office (where I was the only person in) and at after 6.30 it was like bedlam. Queues everywhere, masses and masses of people, no social distancing, big groups of kids, looked like they had been drinking, one threw a bud bottle at another as I got stopped by the lights and they were all squaring off - looked about 12. Totally depressing.

Depends what normal is. My neighbours on both sides have had people round, parties, travelled far and wide every day this year. They have pretty much ignored the lockdown and act as though nothing's happened.

Sounds like a normal night in redcar

Probably at least a year. An effective vaccine is really the only way out. Paradoxically the increase in the R number is probably good from this aspect as the more virus there is about the more accurate we will know how effective a vaccine is. Still, it is scary times for the most vulnerable.

Never.
As someone who suffers from depression I can’t see any reason to carry on. It will never be normal again.

There is no normal here - thousands of food banks, thousands homeless and sleeping rough and millions living in poverty isn’t normal, it’s just what we’ve been programmed to accept as normal

I don't think we will ever return to "normal" as it was before March, or anything similar. The "new" normal may be better or it may be worse, but it will certainly be different

Only when there is a vaccine - hopefully the Oxford team will pull through in autumn - although that will only be a partial normal but it will give people so much confidence if it all goes to plan.

That's crazy, I've regrettably had to cancel all kinds of events, BBQs, birthdays etc and so have many, many others
