When did you think - "We are going down?"

For me - it was the capitulation v Barnsley (being found out with no answers) and no recent shots on target

Up until that point I always thought we would be ok. Since then results have started to go against us and Woody seems to have lost the plot with his team selection.

I hope I'm wrong but I think we could be passing Sunderland coming the other way

Early October. Felt like we were almost safe at the beginning of January and thought Woody was beginning to win me over, but the good performances were just a blip and we never had the quality to maintain it. I've been resigned to us getting relegated again for the last fortnight.

IF

we were to survive, you would presume that Woody would be in charge next season. What sort of transfer budget would he be given to replace the outgoings - Gestede, Ayala, Britt etc? It would be more of the same. If we went down - you would presume that under a new manager we would have enough quality to bounce back

When he brought his friends back into the team and dropped the youngsters who put the effort in. Since George and Brit have come back we have been shoite. My opinion anyway.

5th May 1990 in the bottom 3, We played Newcastle at home, who were chasing promotion to the top flight, we not only had to win but hope Bournemouth lose at home to Leeds
We thumped Newcastle 4-1 & Bournemouth lost to Leeds, we stayed up by the skin of our teeth, one of my more memorable Boro games
There's always hope

If we're within 2 points on the last day, I'll be happy.

As soon as Woodgate was appointed I thought this is a bad move - let’s be honest, the club has been dying on its feet since the final whistle blew at Eindhoven. Bad descion after bad descion has led to the current situation and there’s only only person responsible for it

For me? It was the math my brother gave me earlier then I felt miserable. "We won 8 in 35, how will we get 5 in 11" Then it sank in. I feel sorry for Woody. I do feel he hasn't been the luckiest manager with injuries and ref decisions. Personally, I would back him next year if we got relegated as he is learning his trade. His team, on some days has been very good. I think the injury problems have been terrible considering his almost zero budget.

The Luton game should have been the wake up call for Gibson. Barnsley should have confirmed it.

However, if anyone still needs convincing of just how bad a manager Jonathan Woodgate is...

In the last 30 years we have only gone 10 games without a win in all competitions twice...both this season. Let that sink in.
