What's the most desperate thing you have done when you have been in pain

Sawed off my own hand cast, and then stretched out my fingers (which had been cast closed for 6 weeks), the cast cutting was fine, the getting the fingers straight/ moving again wasn't.

That's what happens when you miss an appointment and then go working away

Stay back after the match in the league cup final replay at Hillsborough to watch Leicester City lift the trophy. Simply to watch the celebrations and imagine what it might feel like to win a cup one day.

Gulp- did it hurt much

I tell you what I nearly did today .. cut the end of my finger off to get rid of some pain .. I was using a hot glue gun and managed to get a big hot dollop of glue sticking to the pad of my middle finger and it burned deep into the fleshy bits .. Sat for 2 hours with my finger in a cup of cold water .. if I were to take it out the nerves started screaming ..

Probably the worst localised pain I've felt, which has included breaking lots of bones and doing my ACL.

Worst thing was there didn't seem to be any attempt for my body to counter the pain, it just stayed the same or got worse  Normally adrenaline or some other mental thing takes over and reduces the pain with most other things, to me anyway, but not this time. It was like my body teaching me a lesson

In desperation, popped an abscess on my gum with a cocktail stick, got a brain scrambling shooting pain across half my face. Went a bit sweaty and passed out for a second or two.

I have a mate who's been registered disabled for years after he broke his back falling from scaffolding.

So many years ago I had really bad tooth ache and couldn't find any medication strong enough to see me through the weekend. So he basically offered me one of his pain killers for his back.

Clearly in hindsite very dangerous. Although at the time I was in so much pain I just slammed it in😂. I recon with in 20mins I had no pain and dribbling. Turns out they were really strong opiods. I shouldn't stress this was pre Google and mobile phones so couldn't check. I was genuinely scared that I'd overdosed. Wouldn't recommend it lol.

Undislocated my left knee using just my right foot after the Mrs had several failed attempts to pull it back into place. Ouch

I bought a kitchen food slicer a couple of years back in a charity shop, it was new in the packaging and from the 70s, 1st and only time I used it and was more just me trying it to see what it was like I sliced my finger tip very deep, I don't know exactly how deep but it was past the fatty layer so I'm assuming it was too the muscle layer and over a cm in length. I didn't want to go to the hospital as it would be a waste of time and my anxiety of hospitals wouldn't of let me anyway, so I cleaned it up with salt water, put antiseptic on it the glued it back together with superglue. I still have a scar on my finger but not too bad really considering. Also I filling fell out of my tooth and then a couple of days later the tooth broke and I also have a huge phobia of dentists, when the tooth broke it kept cutting my gum when I was eating so I sanded it down with some wet and dry sandpaper so it wasn't as sharp. Probably done other bits but them 2 pop into my head as the most extreme self aid I have given myself.
