What you all been up to in the lovely afternoon sunshine?

9 holes of golf this morning. Not 18 as it was pretty windy.

Now lazing around on the sofa.

Just yet another sunny day here. Summer continuing in southern Spain. I guess it will break at some point.

Played my 5th game of golf in 5 days. Collapsed on the sofa. Watched the Grand prix then all the footy I had recorded and now the live game.

Just the tops and shelves to finish and its a job well done and the Mrs has a new kitchen and I still have a happy bank manager :)

I decided to dig all the paths up around the house whilst on my 14 days isolation and have spent today moving the soil from one spot to a skip at the front of the house.

I spent all day yesterday laying the paths and have made a decent job of it. I just have the path leading to the greenhouse to do.

I am getting too old for doing these type of jobs.

Looks a decent job mate - how does it stand up with wear & tear in the busiest / harshest room in the house (except perhaps the kharzi)?

Time will tell I suppose!
The old doors seem to made from MDF with a paper printed wood effect and then sealed with to make them wated and food resistent. The vinyl i used claims to have around a 10 year indoor life span, in reality im expecting at least 5 years from it. The marble effect worktop lifespan will be the major concern, but as long as we dont do anything silly like put hot pans on it and start chopping food it should be fine.

Total cost is around £200

There is a National Gardens Scheme running at present, where you can visit private gardens not normally open to the Public. You pay £4 or £5 per person, but the money goes to charity. Some the gardens are better than National Trust gardens in special locations. You get a chance to speak to the owners who often developed the gardens from scratch and the garden has become their baby. They sometimes have cheap plants and fruit for sale (for charity again). We went to a garden in the Usk Valley (Monmouthshire) today and had a free traditional music concert which was not planned). I came back with a giant Boro red begonia and a very pretty fuscia (a variety I hadn't see before). Last week I spoke to the owner of a garden (more like small estate) who had been an international sales manager for ICI Paints for 30 years, when ICI existed. He worked at Millbank and told me tales about John Harvey Jones. We came away with a carrier bag of beautiful apples and pears and a large Peocock feather.

Like Norman I’m also in quarantine, read the papers, baked some bread, Read more of my book, watched the GP, it was a bit windy to persuade mrs Flash to sit outside.
One week down, one to go.

Daughter had some friends up from Cambridge (after their stay in Newcastle) - spot of lunch for them whilst prepping a BBQ for tea.

Cleaned up the BBQ, ground some beef and mixed with 'Sweet Baby Ray' and a bit of Red Wine for flavouring along with seasoning. chopped a bit of salad and some boiled taties. Mowed the front lawn and cleaned the patio.

Guests left around 15:00 as they had that drive back and I lit the BBQ around 17:00 - ready to cook by 18:15 - chicken - the burgers, some sausages and salmon. All in all a decent day!
