I like this team, and I think there is far too much snobbery about 442. One thing people often don't realise about it, is the fact it can make a team defensively really solid if played right. It's also good if a team is low on confidence as it's easy for every player to know their role.

Im all for keeping it simple with 4-4-Fecking-2 if youve got the players for it.

The worry with 4-4-2 these days is virtually every team play with 3 in the middle. So you either need to have 2 exceptional centre mids or your wide players need to tuck in narrow when you don't have the ball otherwise you will just get over run.

Since our centre midfield is one of our weakest positions at the moment, I would worry about playing 4-4-2.

That is a fair point, and although my suggestion is slightly tongue in cheek I did think about playing McNair Left Mid & Giles Left Back, so that McNair tucks in & provides that support to the CMs & Giles overlaps & provides the width.
