I'd go with that team too, this is a game we need to be winning if we have any ambitions this season.

100 percent. If we play a team like that i will fancy us. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Saville pop up with another important goal.
 
Blocks team looks spot on to me.
100% I'd be delighted with that team.
Chuba needs a rest, Robert's has to play, can't rest Saville after his goals.
Block Warnock has cracked it.

Not saying that I don't agree, but is it a bit of an eye opener that no one selects Chuba when an up front scorer is our main requirement and apart from the points accrued, hasn't the main plus of our last couple of games been that everyone is putting in 100%.
So why move away from this, back to a tried and tired formation with some personnel who do not go along with the "chase everything " attitude ?

For me it is because of the relentless games every 3 or 4 days and keeping some players fresh and reducing the risk of injuries through knocks and strains etc

Exactly. It’s also a game I see Assombalonga scoring in. Roberts and a fresh Britt will take a bit of pressure of Akpom and give him a breather for a busy up coming schedule like you say

I do like that but I worry about us defensively on the sides getting doubled up on, also would would worry if Britt or Chuba pick up a knock. But you are right, their will have to be games coming up where they are both in from the start.
 
I think it's an interesting game. It's probably the first time we've gone into a game as clear favourites.

So the onus has to be on attacking and having a real go. I would like Roberts in and probably Britt as Akpom looks tired.

I'd have Spence and Johnson as wing backs as they give a bit more going forward.

Akpom should definitely play.
He doesn't need a rest at all. He's played 5 matches in 4 weeks this season.
Assombolonga should sit on the bench and look like he means it when coming on as sub.

Other than that I agree with the OP's team.

He has also played a few champions league qualifiers for PAOK
 
Obviously the sports scientists etc will know best about Akpom but it was a tough game for him v Cardiff and not much recovery time. I'm sure he'll want to play and could get through the match but it's not just about that, it's the risk of injury and keeping him fit and fresh for upcoming games too.

Stamina wise he'd be fine no doubt, but if his body isn't fully recovered from Saturday (i.e. muscle strains/fatigue etc) then it increases the risk of injury. With only two fit strikers till January we have to be really careful on this. I think it's recovery time between games that's the issue rather than how much he's played overall this season. Although happy to be corrected by anyone with more expertise on the subject.
