What is This Tune? I Need to Know.

It was a tv ad for the Renault 5.
Somebody else said it my have been an ad for Peogeot. Whatever car yes It may well have been but sadly doesn’t help identify the music - as mentioned above it must have been on vinyl for Bernard to play it. I wouldn’t have thought it would have been an original piece of ad music

Over to Rob, hunt it out matey.... Talk to Bernard on behalf of the FMTTM oldies.... it could end up unsolved!! It must be on his vinyl collection in the loft maybe..... my guess is it is a LP of promo music for TV adverts from the 70s.... surprised Erimus hasnt got any idea seems like his taste in 70s tunes ;)

It was 100% a piece of library music used on a TV car advert... I think Renault is right. I've asked Bernard about it a couple of times before.

Needs sorting before I leave this mortal coil - could be a book in this somewhere ( or at least a decent column). If he still has his vinyl collection then as soon as he sees it it will be sorted

It was definitely for the Renault 5.

Might be worth asking Renault but I doubt it, we really need the name of the ad agency.

KPM issued library tunes from british composers to DJs ect.... take a butchers
Was Bernard a DJ then who would have been sent vinyl promo stuff?

I have done a check through the old Renault ads on YouTube. No luck. Have also poured through the recorded works of Ronnie Hazlehurst and Mike Mansfield on Spotify no luck. I’ve even gone off on a tangent and gone through “Mike Mansfield radio” on Spotify. Some great 70s ditties but not our Ayresome Park going home tune.

Bernard is now the only hope otherwise it could be lost forever.

Try Keith Mansfield... Mike did Supersonic.
As I mentioned above, try DeWolfe... They did loads.
Brian Bennett, Alan Hawkshaw, Peter Reno, Keith Mansfield. Johnny Scott, Jack Trombey, Johnny Pearson.
You may not know their names, but you'll know many many of their compositions.
