What is Andy Preston playing at re Park openings.

I went to Albert Park on Friday with my son. It was very quiet with few people around. We actually walked past Preston on the path adjacent to Park Rd North.
Now today I read that he is limiting the opening times to the park, so Stewart Park can stay open until 5pm but Albert Park must close its gates at 12 noon therefore squeezing potential users into a smaller time frame.

The weekend before lockdown and the closing of the Parks, I was at Albert Park and again it was quiet with people exercising social distancing whereas all reports from Stewart Park for that weekend say that it was rammed. Does he have something against town centre dwellers?

It is surely far more important that Albert Park is open longer out of the two parks.
There were officials assessing the situation from the start of the first social distancing and I saw lots of different groups using the paths for exercise - and very responsibly so. There are a lot of streets nearby that get limited light let alone have no access to gardens and green space. What it may mean is people having to make their way to the far smaller Ayresome Gardens instead. That cannot be fenced off and has a lot of users but is so much smaller.

He’s a control freak with a messiah complex.
Everything he does is right and he is personally saving lives. He must be ‘he’s convinced’
