Going through some old stuff the other day
A signed Phil Lynott poetry book - from Brian Anderson's Tees Rock show (for the old uns)
A signed framed black and white pic of Ayresome from Bernie and Ali - when they used to have a caller of the week.

yes, I know, before you start - it must have been a fallow week

2 tickets to any Premier League game after I won goal of the day on Soccer Saturday. I voted for Mustafa Hadji’s volley for Coventry. Went to watch Man Utd vs Spurs the day they won the league meaning I’ve seen them lift the trophy twice, more than most of their “fans”.

Won a 7" copy of Roxy Music's Dance Away in a dancing competition, at the Trocadero in Knaresborough. My girlfriend won "stop the Cavalry" and got to walk home with me. Lucky gal

A Christmas cake at North Skekton Christmas fare late 70s.
It was a guess the weight thing, and to be fair mam gave me the weight as I had no clue!

An Opus 3 album in Macmillans nighclub circa 92.
A £100 stunt kite from Flexifoil
A couple of photography competitions getting my own photos turned into framed prints.
Hospitality tickets a couple of times for the Boro match. We used to get them as part of our links with MFC Foundation at work. Names drawn out of a hat.

Won 1st and 2nd prize at the old Victory Club ( Marton Rd) Football Annual Awards night at the Ladle, won 2 Ghetto Blasters and sold one on the night!
Won an unreleased Dexy's album on the radio Tees bank holiday quiz.

I'm commenting based off my best mate who's proof you can win big by entering random competitions👍

A couple of years ago he spent £50 in a Fat Face shop so that gained him entry into a competition . So he filled out his details on a card and simply forgot about it. So roughly 3-4 months later recieved a phone call stating he had won first prize (he said he didn't even remember entering).

He won a 28k fully restored Volkswagon Camper Van. It was made by some bispoke dealer who designs them to order. The he owned it for about a year and wanted rid as everywhere he went people wanted photos and 'surf dudes' saying how nice it was. Also it would only do 50mph so a pain going anywhere with family. The clause in the competition stated he couldn't sell for a set time period.

So he phoned the guy who built it and he bought it back for around 18k and wavered the clause👍. My mate said he looked on the blokes website and he was selling on the forecourt for 24k a week later.

It's the biggest thing I've ever known anyone to win.

Not counting bookies and lottery etc, I have won a few things over the years, a selection of daft things were things like:-

A weekend caravan break in Northumberland (that actually cost £25 once there)
A free water displacement device for the toilet cistern
A signed photo of Leigh Miles (crackerjack fame)
An electric toaster (there is a back story behind that but I will save it for another day, sorry)
An Aiwa stereo player
A christmas chicken
A meat tray
A bottle of Asti Spumante
