What an awful game so far

Fair play to Assombalonga. He’s been dreadful tonight but he’s the only player in our squad who could have finished that so neatly.

Get in.
The overpaid forward pi$$es me right off but a goal to the Boro is more important than just about anything else

Like when Karanka was in charge...

Never looked like losing.

Had the best chances. (Morsey missed a sitter when the keeper spilled it first half, paddy should have laid on a sitter when in behind, morsey chance that hit the bar, and the goals)

The worst it was going to be is 0-0, the majority of times you take one of the chances.

I like watching us play controlled unexciting football.

And the one Roberts skied early on.

Only one team tried to make a game of it. Surprised to read the stat that we had 17 shots - 5 on target!

Records will show three points and two goals with none conceded. I suppose after taking a spanking at home last time out Coventry were going to be "cautious" but dear me they showed no ambition at all for the first hour and not much after that until they went behind.

In a way, a result like tonights' can be just as/if not more satisfying as beating one of the top teams in the division. It's easy to say 'It's only Coventry' but they made it difficult for us by sitting deep, and we had to dig in and find a way to get the win. No easy games in this division.

The score flattered Boro.
It was an appalling game to watch.
Assombalonga took his goal well in fairness but it really was the only good thing he did all night.

Spence again finished well.

Midfield passed the ball about well but couldn’t find that pass to get us going.
Another solid defensive display.
Sky won’t be banging the doors down at the Riverside to get in if this is going to be typical if our home games.

Gawd......I was bored stiff.

Am I the only one not bored by tight matches that are a moment away from being won?

Completely agree. Tonight’s win has made me the happiest out of the lot. I didn’t think we were great and to get the 3 points is all that matters especially after that gruelling set of fixtures in the week before hand. I’m delighted tonight I really am.

You really need to get over your hatred of Assombalonga. It’s getting boring
