What a joke Eddie Hearn is

Well, that's a $hitter, just shows they care more about PPV than boxing, or the fans.

At least it's not in Vegas though, at 4am or whatever.

Rematch at Wembley hopefully?

I suppose if i was going to get punched in the head for a living then i'd want to make as much money as possible and would probably fight anywhere in the world to earn it.

Having said that, Saudi Arabia doesn't strike me as very brand AJ.

Boxing is just about circling the drain at this moment in time.

Fights and decisions like this and the entire nonsense related to ex-boxers fighting Youtubers just tells me that the whole sport is in turmoil and might have a very different or limited future.

Well there’s a shock.

so you have no problem with the biggest fight in boxing between two British fighters being held in a country with zero sports heritage even worse human rights records where women are banned from attending and where British fans won’t be able to go.

ok then I guess we have a different moral compass.

it’s called sports washing for a reason

Not sure if that comment was aimed at me or JM. But yeah I’d rather it wasn’t specifically held in Saudi Arabia (or Iran / N.Korea etc) but the fact that it’s in a foreign country doesn’t bother me.

Ultimately what we do with regards to countries such as Saudi Arabia is a complex issue. Should we boycott them completely? Is it feasible? Should we be asking where the oil has been sourced when we fill the car up etc

I’m not talking about fighting in foreign countries as although I’m against it that just modern world and it’s not unexpected but Saudi is just an insult.

it’s morally bankrupt I hope Tyson refuses.

The fact this is the second fight AJ has fought in Saudi says it all as well. How much money do they need

I’d guess the second fight will be at Wembley. They couldn’t sell it to full capacity and the boxers want what they want to fight so it had to go elsewhere. They’ll be covering the reported £150m the boxers are getting, unfortunately it’s that or no fight.

In fairness Zorro, whilst I hear your points and largely agree, it's not like the UK is some shining beacon of morality and decency is it. We're also a tin pot dictatorship or certainly headed that way.

Of course I'd love it to be at Wembely in front of a full house but that isn't happening so I'd rather the fight happened in Saudi / US or anywhere rather than it not happening.

I’m not sure where the outrage is coming from. Anybody who follows boxing knew months ago that this would be the case.

the Saudis are probably one of the few nations who can afford to bankroll it without the revenue a crowd would bring.

As long as the second fight is in the uk with a capacity crowd then it’s all good.

re the op without Eddie Hearn this fight literally wouldn’t be going ahead , he has worked for months across all parties, broadcasters and promotional , management teams. He’s made the fight that nobody else could of.
