And so do the usual inconsiderate, selfish folk of the Boro

Went out cycling this morning & paused for a rest on a bench, left were 2 half bottles of water, one left on the bench the other just threwn in a flower bed & scattered on the floor, remains from a takeaway with the empty carton just left next to the food, bin quite close too

Not to mention the countless face masks you see just laid about, I'm afraid we will revert back to type as soon as this pandemic is over

Why can't certain people be grown up about things, why do they have to think they're more important than others, it's not hard, just put things in the bin FHS

It is often a combination of laziness, selfishness, pretending they are cool and funny with their mates and poor parenting. Say anything to these and you are most likely to get a reply that goes something like ‘wtf has it got to do with you d’head’ People are often too frightened to say anything these days society and community spirit seem a thing of the past. I am sure we can all relate to getting grief off some idiots for trying to politely point out the error of someones actions sadly. Lasses are just as bad as lads nowadays too.

Standards of decency have slipped. Since lockdown I have noticed huge increases in dog fouling I try and be polite when you witness it, but just get met with excuses of ‘forgotten bags‘ I’ll pick it up on the way back’ or the good old fashioned ‘f*ck off thats not my dogs’. :(

it wasn't during lockdown but i once confronted a bloke whose son had spat at me on my walk to work one day. the kid (about 12?) asked me for "a quid" and i said i had no change (i did but needed it for the metro) so he just spat at me. his father drank in my local so i challenged him about out it a few days later. his reply was "so f**k" and spat at me himself (sort of at my shoes)

where do you go with that, the kid has no chance

What a depressing thread to read.

I found that even during lockdown selfish people found the opportunity to litter their locality with seemingly gay abandon.

We have had a huge flytipping issue for months notwithstanding the litter in parks, hedgerows and Streets.

Artie, that's awful, yes his son doesn't stand a chance, unfortunately

So why is it when swearing is brought up as a subject, most of you defend it as a modern day right then the next you don't like it when it happens to you!
Imho if swearing was treated as a crime as was and is in some countries, the world might seem like a nicer place.

Couldnt agree more, horrible to listen to people swearing just as a normal conversation

Swearing seems to be the common language of a certain section of society today. Half the time it is just second nature, habit, said without real thought or meaning, its just a word embedded in some families cultures, an everyday occurrence in the vocabulary of theIr ‘home or street’.

Police ignore it, nobody gets pulled up for it, we all see it hear and and rather than challenge it we tolerate it, and so it just replicates across generations and parts of society as an accepted norm within various socio economic groups to differing effect.

I hate swearing but parts of society are in decline and standards fall with it sadly.

How did the post get onto making huge generalisations about people who swear.

One of the few optimistic thoughts many people had during this terrible time was that more people would come out of this being more kind.
Ah well....

Won't happen finny I'm afraid, I've said before it will revert to type, people who were kind & considerate will continue so, if people are selfish individuals then that will carry on too
