Well it’s time to inspect the damage

I’m going outside and I may be a while ! After last night especially the early hours of this morning it sounded like the twister in Wizard of Oz outside. Already looked out bedroom window and there’s tiles in the garden and wheelie bin down the street and it’s still blowing hard . If I’m not back on here this morning tell my family and the Boro I love them . Sniffle/gulp 🌪

It wasn't windy down south bur sleeted all night.

I did look at the weather warning up north. Awaiting the damage report barmy.

Back in and could have been worse . Wheelie bin albeit went for a wander was intact and only couple of roof tiles but thankfully chimney pots survived . Only real headache is my shed roof isn’t there anymore and its likely next door so a discreet knock on their door this morning to ask if I can have my roof back ( much trickier than asking for your ball back ) 😬

I should phone my dad and make sure he is OK.

Hope you get your roof back.

Looked out the bathroom wi dow earlier and the tin on my roof has curled up to one end.
I haven't plucked up the courage to go outside yet.

Fencing out the back has completely been demolished. Lovely stuff 😒. Also my BBQ ended up on the road.

Saw plenty of damage on my way home from work this morning including a tree down at the academy on Norton Road. Lots pf fences near us down including our lap panel fence. Well I say it's down, more like it has been torn asunder by a velociraptor.

Checked in with my dad, his fence is down and he is panicking now. It can be awful getting old when every little thing becomes a major event.

Sorry to hear matey .
He is 87 and it's a symptom for most old people I think. He is also complaining about the vent he had to have put in for the house insurance blowing a draft up his trouser leg. I did suggest he put the heating on. He said, I have the fire on (living flame, very 1980's) and I like watching it. I suggested he could keep the fire on and put the heating on.

You can spend some time soothng elderly parents fears.

I'm glad I moved all our lasses plant pots yesterday, as no doubt would have been me clearing it up this morning. The trees behind look a bit precarious!

My back fence has blown down and the trampoline from the house over the back was pressed up against my kitchen window.

Apart from that everything is okay, apart from no electricity

Next door’s shed is in smithereens.

Our back fence on one side of the garden has been flattened, patio heater glass tube broken. Other than that we appear, at first glance to be not too bad. Just ordered some new fence panels which arrive on Tuesday. The few remaining pears we had are probably now somewhere in Cumbria. Hope everybody else is OK

Some wood has fallen over and n my back garden but that seems to be it.

parents fence is down which they are already worrying about

My dad is the same about his fence. He is concerned people can walk straight into his garden. When I pointed out that the gate is never locked, it made no difference. Older people do sweat the smaller stuff.
