Well I never - Peter Gilmore

Yeah, he was talked about at school by a lot of the elderly staff. A load of us boarders used to walk past his picture in Richardson Hall by the secretarial office, not a clue who he was :)

Peter Gilmore immortalised in Carry on royalty for his line to Barbara Windsor in Carry on Doctor.

Barbara Windsor spots Gilmore who is munching into a pear.

She says: "Oh what a lovely looking pear."

He says: "You took the words right out of my mouth."

Also loved him in The Onedin Line.

“Hoist the main sail Mr Baines” in a thick Yorkshire accent.
