We were always going to have a blip

There’s no other side in this league like Burnley either they really are the pinnacle so in a way you can discount last night result as we were always going to struggling despite our form.

So really Burnley aside there’s only the loss to Huddersfield ( who did it again yesterday ) that has slightly derailed us.
Absolutely. Huddersfield under Warnock in their last 4 games have won away at Millwall and Watford and beaten us at home and drawn with Norwich at home, that is promotion form. We just were too complacent in the second half at Huddersfield and went toe to toe with the best team in the Championship last night. Lets not forget, Steffen wasn’t overly tested last night and we could easily have drawn it, nay, even won it if we had been as clinical with our chances, especially 1st half and at the death.

Are you a troll? Clearly you don’t support Boro.
Does being a Boro fan mean you can be realistic, objective and balanced then?

Oh ok.

That was a terrific display from Boro last night. If it wasn't for the ref, the Burnley players, the Burnley fans and malevolent spirits from some medieval bone yard underneath the Riverside, Boro would have won 10-0. Akpom hit this one shot, if it had gone in the net it would have been a goal.

Is that better?

No, it's a little bit silly.

We are at least 3 top quality players away from being Burnley standard. The worry for me is our engine room of howson and Hackney has gone off the boil. You cant criticise hayden though he has been excellent all season. We must get fry back in as well
I also feel as though that the problem over the last few games has been Howson and Hackney.

When Howson plays well Boro play well and the last two he's struggled.

Hackney was a little better lsdt night, but has been off since around the Stoke game.

I’m not going to throw a wobbly about a couple of poor results. Considering where we were 6 months ago, it’s been remarkable.

I am a bit worried we look tired and stale. I never thought we’d catch Sheffield, but a few weeks ago none of the other teams would have fancied playing us in the playoffs. Now, I reckon they all will.

Needs to make a few changes, even if it’s just to give a few players a rest before the playoffs.

They also did it against the Wall. And will to a few other sides before the season ends too.

I was listening to some of the comments in the Gents whilst having my usual post match pish, before the walk.

You’d think we were relegation fodder with some of the comments.

Burnley are top for a reason. They done a job on us. They were better out of possession than we were. We were far from awful, but likewise, weren’t as fluent and in control of the game as we usually would be. Given the opposition that was to be expected.

The squad isn’t perfect and I do think there are areas of improvement as we move forward. But given where we were in October to where we are now, it’s still an unbelievable transformation.

We just need to get back on the winning trail and maintain some momentum for the play offs! UTB!
While not a good watch, they were superb out of possession. Our style was perfectly suited to them and it was only in the second half when we were on top that I realised the long / direct balls we played were tactical to break their press.
It (like stoke) was a very good barometer of how we've improved, but where we need to get better.

Burnley are outstanding this season, so not particularly worried about the result but the performance was disappointing. Our aim now should be to keep the points gap between us and 7th place, so Norwich will be a big game.

They absolutely killed the game last night and rightfully so. They fell over at every 50/50 and we couldn't get going. They knew we'd put them under pressure if we got our foot on the ball and they stifled us. They were great at the dark arts and they had to be against one of the only teams who could out play them.

They're top for a reason, they've got everything spot on.

Time to refocus and go again Monday. UTFB

You can’t win every game every week and today I thought it just wasn’t quite there coupled with their blatant s_housery tactics of time wasting the game never r was my flowed.

But let’s not forget we were okay the side that walked this league at a canter and they only won through an offside goal.

Let’s keep perspective keep positive and focussed and bring on Bristol C.
You can if you are Burnley it seems. Incredibly no blip this season apart from one game v Sheff U and losing to Watford despite dominating the game.
