We should definitely have a single match thread in future

It’ll never happen, it’s been tried before. People think their observation is too important and should be seen by all and not left to chance, it may get missed in the midst of a thread. I should’ve started a new thread to say this 😂

Personally I prefer lots of threads, I find it quicker to see what might or might not be of interest rather than wade through a load of posts.

I much prefer match threads, especially with the smaller number of threads visible on the screen at once on this new board.

The new software allows you to jump straight to the newest post and it would eliminate dozens of 1 reply threads when we score or concede.

If someone starts a match thread a couple of days in advance with something in the title suggesting that the game should be discussed in that one thread then hopefully people will follow the plan if people start posting in it in advance. Maybe even make it as soon as the last game has ended. People just need to get into the routine.

The Mackems' have a pinned matchday thread on their board.

For me the issue is you can be wading through the thread page by page, and when there's a peiod in the game where nothing much is happening you will probably just get loads of pointless posts such as "need to step it up here" etc.

The advantage of having lots of threads is you will generally have an idea going off the title which thread is worth opening.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to tell people how to post, but can you honestly say that the 'Clucking bell' type of post is useful or contains any actual information that would benefit anyone not able to watch the match or listen to it on the radio?

You can't delete a thread yourself, only admin have that ability.

Wasn't singling you out zorro, but it did serve to illustrate my point perfectly so thanks for being you as another poster would say ;)

That's a classic example of one I'd just ignore.

I thought you could delete your own posts. I'm sure I did it before, but maybe I was dreaming.

Im not sure I quite get that Pierre. There are two threads headed up 1-2 and one headed up 2-2. You’d have to open all three to find out what actually was being said. Throw in a Clucking bell and a WTF thread and you see the issue?

Maybe I'm just awkward - I'd ignore both those threads because as I'd be watching the match I'd know what was going on. I've got nothing against matchday threads and people who like them should start one and ignore all others. What I don't like on matchday threads on here or on oneboro for instance is that when there is a goal or incident you'll get several people saying so at the same time, and as posts 'in' a thread take up a lot more space I find it harder to ignore them. Just a personal preference nothing more.
