We looked really tired today

Really? I'm not convinced. We bossed the first 45 mins.

WBA were on top for the first 15-20mins of the second half. Then every bit competed last 20. It's day one of a new season. Who's 'fit' for any side? It takes a month or more.

I can't say we didn't look 'fit'. We lacked options. The fact our only CM back up was Hackney who we loaned out says it all. Wilder made 2 subs on day one of a season with extra subs available. That says it all.

I thought changing the front 2 made us look better. We needed new legs in CM. Losing Tav with 3 days to go has fecked us. That's nobody's fault.

Still finding our legs — takes four or five games to get match fit. Overall I thought we were ok but we need a DM I feel so that defensive line can be protected on the opposition breakaway which is how we conceded today.

I didn't think we looked tired at all. In fact we probably finished stronger than them

We will benefit from the 5 subs rule once we bring in these extra players, our style of play must take it out of some of the players.

But let’s remember it’s the first game of the season, most teams will have been tired at some point today.

WBA had a storm of 15 minutes at the start of the second, but otherwise I think we were the better side in that half too and, as has been said, finished the stronger.

We did look knacked at the end, but any team would after the effort we put in. No human body can sustain that level of effort and not look tired.

Thought the fresh legs up top at least gave them something new to worry about.
Certainly the team seemed to grow in confidence after that change.

Was worrying the 15 minute spell around the time they scored.
They suddenly looked first to the ball and our heads dropped.

Good sign that we shook it off then clicked back into gear and probably had the best of the last 20 minutes

First game of season, warm muggy sort of day, I’d say we looked no more leggy than West Brom in the second half. Takes a few games to get proper match fitness for any side

Wilderball sems to be a bit 'all or nothing'.
Incredibly exciting to watch but requires the team to constantly 'push on'.
When we were on the front foot we looked good, perhaps always susceptible to a break-away goal. Then they got the upper hand.

Personally I'm loving the way we play. The players have to take a lot of responsibility and be brave on the ball.
When we clicked today I thought we played some marvelous stuff.

With such 'full on' football (mental & physical) it would really help to have a stronger bench to call on.

I thought the difference at the start of the second half was our midfield. The wing backs had to play as defenders and we weren't good enough bringing the ball out to give the wingbacks a chance to get forward. It was a game that would have looked different with tav playing.

There was also an obvious problem with the front line. They clearly didn't capitalize on our approach play. There was Watmore miss, an unnecessary offside. Oh and what I thought was a penalty

First game of season against a team we dominated in the first half, it's not surprising we tired.

Under CW we can be confident we'll be amongst the fittest in the division.

I watched the game on TV, but thought WBA became more aggressive in tnhe second half , they won a couple of key challenges in the build up to their goal which was a critical example of that.

Wallace and Swift have improved them from last season. They will be on wages well above what we pay.

West Brom are a monstrously big team - they outmuscled us at times and overran us in midfield at the start of the second half for a while, but we rallied and came back into when the subs came on. I think it was a very good point for us considering they have probably got most of their signings in place whilst most of ours are still to come in.

They were massive side, Dike was absolutely huge. They were mobile as well.

Second half they caught us a bit flat footed but we responded to the challenge.

A real intense physical challenge and we stood up to it.

Considering where we are in terms of recruitment a satisfactory result.
