We are so undercooked for opening the season

as one door closes another door opens.

by using the word 'undercooked' are you alluding to Neil, Ronnie & Kev not being able to prepare a football team correctly ?

I'm not suprised we're undercooked, Blackwell hasn't even finished renovating his bloody kitchen yet.

In all seriousness, the squad is a little thin, but many people felt that at the start of last season and we started strongly. There's still time to sort it and I'll judge us once the window is shut, but there's work to be done in a few Little Chefs off the highways of Great Britain.

He can hold the ball up and is not a Fanny. So he is an improvement. EDIT: Can I say that. I was born in the fifties. Sorry!
Look at his goal scoring record, it’s extremely poor considering the level he’s spent most of his career at, yes he can hold the ball up well but you need more than that at this level. I know Britt and Fletcher were hardly popular around here, but you would have to be completely deluded to argue that Ikpeazu is an upgrade on either of them

Why do you need more than that at this level? If he can hold the ball up effectively and allow the team to play a system that suits the players around him he doesn't need more than that. He'll get 8-10 goals this season on top of being and effective target man I think. If he does that it's good business.

Also think you're being a bit short sited re Britt ... ANY professional footballer who actually puts in effort and has a will to win will be better than Brit was last season. He was truly and utterly shocking. I for one was embarrassed he was a Boro player

Of course you need more than that, if that was enough then why arent teams queuing up to sign Akinfenwa?

8-10 goals is very optimistic for Ikpeazu considering hes only scored 40ish goals in his entire career, and only scored more than 8 once, and that was in league two. Really dont see how this is an upgrade on Assombalonga or Fletcher.

Britt was hardly that bad last season, it was his worst season for us admittedly but we have had far worse strikers over the last few years. Its not Sunday league level, you dont need your striker to run around like crazy for 90 minutes. We all know Britt isnt or will never be that sort of player though. Play to his strengths and he will get goals, he has a strike rate of under 1 in 3 in this league. He really isnt as bad as you want to believe.

undercooked? It feels like one of Boris's not fit for purpose oven ready meals, and it's being served frozen.

We're at a an absolute minimum 6 players short of which at least 3 are first choice players. We don't get at least 6 in, we're going to struggle to not be in a relegation battle because we won't have the goals or the depth in defence.

Maybe because NW sees goal scoring potential in Ikpeazu and not in Akinfenwa? He already mentioned he needs some guidance in that area and he's already reacting well to the training they have been doing with him... Hence why I think he can score 8-10

How can you not see how a target man who is suited to how our team wants to play is more effective than a player who basically needed it set up on a platter for him? Britt really was that bad last season.

Yet wonder Warnock who can transform other players or get something more out of them made Britt captain and played him 31 times.

Uche and Crooks have definitely improved the forward line. (y)

Why not wait until we play someone half decent before making that bold statement. I haven't seen one iota to say they have improved us. Uche will get nullified by decent defenders. Crooks going on when I went to York looks no better than whats already here except he gives us a bit more height. So lets wait and see.

When I say this I mean the serious lack of players we have. Injuries abound without a kick of the season made, the under strength team sent out tonight just goes to show and highlight reinforcements- and not just one or two.
We need players- the right players - in very quickly. Will this happen? I hope so but it is a helluva task to get in the amount needed without a massive compromise on the needed quality.
I see those happy pills worked.

We are a bit short. We can still put out a competitive starting 11.

I know it's not ideal but we've still got all of August and loans to bolster the ranks. We've brought in as many or more as must sides.

The fact we are picking up injuries is an issue Tav / Fisher / Ameobi

Won't be NWs fault, he's made that clear already. Throwing Bausor under the bus and still a month of the window to go.

Also note the Steve wants to get South Americans in around the 20 years old remark.

If they don't come in then it's a disaster. If they come in and they are ***** it's not my fault. If they come in and perform its because I'm F***ing brilliant me.
