WE’VE GOT SUPER MICHAEL CARRICK!!!

For the League Cup final? As obviously we're going up automatically.🤠
People scoffed when I posted it the other day, but I maintain it - the Boro are going up with Michael Carrick. I think we’ll be up and running now and will quickly hunt down the pack. And the good thing is we’re mounting our run earlier than last season, so we have ample time to nail it.

If you went today, and I doubt you did....you would know we are absolutely miles away from being a top 6 side.
I don't mind people getting carried away but that's just foolish....

I feel like such a traitor moaning to get rid of him after the Sheff wed game. It was rock bottom. But there is only one way to go from there and that’s right up the league.

If we play like that every week we will soon start getting results. We could have easily scored a few more today on the break. Can’t wait for coburn to score. Think he all round play has been great.

I think we might’ve bottomed out in the first half at Hillsborough. Carrick had clearly b*llocked them at half time, he’d made changes and there was a sense of urgency in our play for the first 20-25mins of the second half. That was so important today. We should be up and running now. Bring it on.

I still wouldn’t go as far as promotion, but I do think we’ll be top 10. Obviously I’m happy to look daft if we end up somehow higher than that and in the promotion mix, but I’m not going to get too carried away after one result.

I do think we’ll see a big improvement now though. Thoroughly enjoyed myself today.

Like I've said on numerous posts....our season only started in October last year and we just missed out. Obviously lulled the league into a false sense of security with the bad start....but then starting the ascent a few weeks earlier so we reach the peak this season!

Buckle up, the season has finally started and the Boro are going up. No half measures. See you at Wembley.
Hope so Viv, fantastic result especially after going behind, I think it sickened a lot on here as they were hoping old hoof ball might show his face again. I don't think Gibson would entertain him again tbh, I certainly don't want to see that style of rubbish football again.

Nice to see good posters like yourself get behind their team, its very difficult to do when we aren't doing well, but glad to see you post positive hopes for Carrick and the team.

Not unusual to see some posters put the boot in, they of course are entitled to do so.

I never went yesterday too, and I'm local Teessider, I'm hoping to go at the back end of November all being well.
I wont use a dodgy stick, so at the moment I watch if we are on - Sky,TNT or the highlight playbacks on You Tube. Although I do get the run down from my sons.

I cant comment on the full match, but we look like we could of had a couple more?

I wasn’t there yesterday - I can’t really justify £100+ rail travel and £30+ ticket costs at the moment - but watched the game and thought we played well. I saw the Huddersfield game and thought we had some decent moments, the second halves of Blackburn and West Brom, most of the QPR match and watched us at Hillsborough. There has been some good patches but we’ve been generally quite chaotic. The nadir was the first half at Hillsborough.

I thought we played well yesterday. There have been some glimpses this season but yesterday was the first proper full performance. I think there is plenty of scope with this squad and have always tried to be positive because with so many new players, it takes time for things to settle. I just felt like people often go too quick with criticising this, that and the other.

I was slightly concerned by his team selection last Tuesday and that first half was as bad as we’ve been in years, but generally I’ve been optimistic. My main gripe is a general lack of patience. It’s way too early judge anything either way IMO. But I think yesterday’s team is the blueprint really and the new players have to work their way in.

The criticism of recruitment, the staff, the team, the chairman, I just felt like it was way over the top at times. It’s only September. Keep the faith. Hopefully yesterday’s game is the springboard. There should be confidence now and we should be able to start moving up the table.
