As we know - Saturday versus West Brom is the start of Chris Wilder`s first full season in charge. Its important to remember and learn lessons from where his tenure began.
It was Warnock`s final game in charge.
On a grey afternoon at the Hawthorns, having scored before half - time with a great finish from Josh Coburn, Boro conceded an equaliser with 25 minutes to go.
The Baggies had played like the away side, but we couldnt capitalise on chances as they went begging. A near full away end cheered on the lads, but we were left with a point.
The boys came over to us fans to clap the usual thank you, when it became obvious the previous Manager was walking towards us to wave "good bye". It felt surreal, but many of us were glad a red line had been written in the sand. It was the end of the struggle to stay away from the third tier after the horrible period under covid restrictions.
With just 6 wins in 17 games, it was time for a change.
Languishing 14th in the Championship on 22 points, just a point above 17th place Preston - a new chapter was about to be written. Having scored and conceded 19 goals - Boro were an inconsistent side, who had given away games, couldnt hold a lead and looked a mile away from being top six contenders.
Some of us waved ta ta, as the mood changed as to who was going to take over? The walk from the ground, down to the railway station, was more lively than the match. We stood on the platform for 5 minutes when someone shouted "Its Wilder"!!!!!! What?!!....and so the chatter and noise increased as the game was quickly forgotten.....like a snake sheads it skin....the rest is history.

Luke Daniels - 7
Two superb second half saves to help his side to the point.
Jonny Howson - 7
Back at right-back and excellent again. Read the game really well and helped shield Boro's goal.
Sol Bamba - 7
Brilliant at the back. Led the back four against the direct West Brom approach.
Grant Hall - 7
Perfect game for him to return in. Very little got by him.
Lee Peltier - 6
A little leakier than his defensive partners. Cautioned and saw Diangana get by him a couple of times in the second half, but kept to his game.
Isaiah Jones - 6
Lively and dangerous going forward and played a crucial role in the goal. Just rashly fouled after his poor touch initially conceded possession and that led to the equaliser.
Paddy McNair - 6
Not a game where he would stand out in, but he stuck to his task and battled for his side.
Martin Payero - 6
Like McNair, this wasn't a game for midfielders to shine in, but the aggression and physicality that continues to develop is really encouraging.
Marcus Tavernier - 8
His best game for some time. On the left wing, he ran himself into the ground today. Helped Peltier out defensively and had a bit of quality in trying to move Boro out from the back.
Duncan Watmore - 7
Superb shift for his side. Grafted like mad on the high press for his side and then provided the incisive break into the penalty area that resulted in Boro's goal.
Josh Coburn - 8
Not an easy game against such a physical side but he scored again and earned his side a point while running hard up top too.
Substitutes
James Lea Siliki (For Payero, 71') - 6 - Helped see the game out but wasteful once or twice in possession.
Andraz Sporar (For Watmore, 71') - 6 - Continued where Watmore left off with the high press.
Onel Hernandez (For Coburn, 88') - N/A

Chris Wilder is set to become the new Middlesbrough boss after Neil Warnock left his role following Saturday's 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
The former Sheffield United manager has agreed to join the club and is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming days, Teesside Live understands.
Wilder could take his first Boro training session as early as Tuesday morning should the deal get over the line in due course.
After guiding the Blades to promotion to the Premier League in 2018/19, this has the potential to be the perfect appointment for Boro, who have struggled of recent late.
Warnock's departure was announced following the stalemate at the Hawthorns, which stretched their winless run to three matches, leaving them in 14th place in the Championship.
The decision was reportedly made now because Wilder was available and willing to come, but did have numerous offers elsewhere, although those haven't been named.
The 54-year-old had a highly-successful five-year stint at the Blades, winning 106 of his 227 matches in charge and also kept them in the top-flight during their first season.
Boro will be hoping he can achieve as such on Teesside too if he gets the job and his first game at the helm at the Riverside Stadium could be against Millwall on Saturday, November 20.
Wilder will first have almost two weeks to get to know his newly inherited squad during the international break.

The unbalanced squad didnt have the balls or spine to make it to the finishing line in the end, but the failure of loanees Balgan and Connolly, the inconsistency of other players and injuries - still made a concerted grab for the top six. Unfortunately the team`s weaknesses became even more exposed and the lack of class in several areas became apparent.
Now is the time to sart afresh. As we read - players are knocking on the door to receive their kit and enter the team. Its an exciting time and one we should anticipate with relish and high expectations.
